This month’s suggestions for LGBTQ Latinx content you won’t want to miss — including Pride campaigns on Univision and Telemundo, a docu-series from the TransLatin@ Coalition, and more queer-inclusive shows, news stories, documentaries and a little musiquita.

One could argue that media tells the story of a culture, which is one of the reasons why it is so important for LGBTQ+ people to be included in the stories that appear in all forms of entertainment media as well as journalism. Not only do we feel seen, but it helps our families and friends know us better. If, that is, the stories are told well. It’s a pleasure to share with you some very well-told stories: the nominees for the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Award in Spanish-Language scripted series and digital and multimedia journalism, as well as a special recognition.

Wildly creative and queer musician Flor Amargo will be at the Levitt Pavilion in MacArthur Park on July 30, presented by La Banda Elástica, a Latin youth culture web destinaton. Known for her high-energy and playful public performances and featured on the soundtrack of “La Casa de las Flores,” she is one of several musicians giving concerts at Levitt LA, which are free to the public, but you do have to sign up. And, of course, mask up!
