Chevremont’s casting makes her the second queer housewife on Real Housewives of New York City, following in the footsteps of the trailblazing cast member, Jenna Lyons. GLAAD was the first to exclusively speak with Chevremont, a proud Brooklyn-born, Bronx-raised creative powerhouse, about her entry into the franchise and the importance of being a visible queer woman of color on such a mainstream platform.
“I have to say how quickly I became friends with the girls, actually, a group of strong women who support each other,” Chevremont shared, reflecting on her seamless integration into the cast. “I’m excited that Bravo really took a risk and went full force with two queer women on their, you know, on the Housewives, which is amazing.”
Chevremont entered into the art world over 20 years ago, working with institutions and advising corporations, collectors and artists alike. In 2003, she joined the acquisition committees of the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. She co-founded and personally funded the State Street Salon, a Brooklyn-based hub for artists, curators and collectors in 2008 and has.curated the art awards program for the Tribeca Film Festival for the last three years. Now, she’s bringing her talents and queerness to the housewives franchise.
“It’s exciting,” Chevremont told GLAAD in an exclusive interview announcing her casting.

Ubah Hassan, an outspoken Somali model and fellow RHONY cast member, praised the atmosphere of support and sisterhood among the women, saying, “I’m very grateful to be surrounded by all these beautiful women, and they are successful and kind and loving.”
Jessel Taank, Real Housewives of New York City’s first Indian housewife, echoed this sentiment, praising the uniqueness of the cast. “You know, we’re in New York City, you walk down the street, everyone’s different and that’s what I think this cast really brings to the table,” she said. “I think it’s so important to showcase different backgrounds, cultures.”
As Real Housewives of New York City’s newest season is set to kick off, fans can expect an even more authentic representation of the diverse tapestry that makes New York City and its residents so special. With Chevremont’s fearless presence and the continued celebration of inclusivity, this season promises to be both empowering and groundbreaking.
