The fourth season of the Emmy, Peabody, and GLAAD Media Award winning series We’re Here, is almost here! Featuring a brand new cast of queens headed to all new towns across the country, this season is sure to be as impactful, inspiring, and important as the last.
Returning Friday, April 26th, this season of We’re Here will star Ru Paul’s Drag Race alum Sasha Velour, Priyanka, Jaida Essence Hall, and Latrice Royale, as they continue the show’s mission of spreading love and connection through the art of drag across small-town America. The queens will travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as surrounding towns, to help participants put together a drag show, take an up-close look at anti-LGBTQ legislation, and members of the community that drag isn’t only harmless, but beautiful.
Watch the trailer here:
“Right now in the world, people who are different are being extremely targeted,” Jaida Essence Hall opens up the trailer. After panning to a crowd of anti-LGBTQ protestors, Latrice Royale says, “Our survival is at risk. We have to stand up.”
Priyanka later chimes in by explaining the importance of this season in particular. “Because they tried to cancel Pride, it’s important that we make drag a spectacle. We’re not hiding, we’re not going anywhere.”
It is then revealed that before one of their shows, they were advised not to perform. “I got an interesting call, concerned that you might get arrested if we do this,” someone warns the queens.
“Four seasons later, it’s actually harder to be out and proud,” Priyanka says. The queens are then shown talking to two community members who refer to LGBTQ people as “a religious cult.” It is then revealed that one of this season’s participants had their house shot at “for being a gay drag queen running for office.”
“Violence is never the answer, but drag just might be!” Sasha Velour proclaims proudly on stage. “To inspire one person to live out and proud is worth it,” Priyanka adds.
“We’re here!” the queens and community members shout, “And we’re not going anywhere,” Jaida concludes.
