Hallmark’s holiday magic just got even brighter and gayer with the return of Finding Mr. Christmas. The festive reality competition brings together ten charming contestants as they compete in a series of merry challenges to become the next Hallmark leading man. Hosted by GLAAD Ambassador, and Hallmark favorite Jonathan Bennett, the show celebrates love, laughter, and authentic LGBTQ representation in one of television’s most beloved genres.
GLAAD Vice President of Communications and Talent, Anthony Allen Ramos, sat down with Bennett, who serves co-creator and one of the show’s executive producers and contestant Robbie Simpson to discuss the show’s impact and the growing importance of LGBTQ visibility on Hallmark Channel.
Bennett, who stars in the beloved GLAAD Media Award-winning film The Groomsmen: Second Chances, which took home Outstanding Film – Streaming or TV at the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, continues to use his platform to champion inclusive storytelling.

“Hallmark is where we tell love stories,” Bennett said. “And to make sure that gay love stories are told on this platform because this is where everyone turns to see your fantasy love life. But over the past five years, as we continue to show love and humanity behind those stories, that negative chatter has quieted. We’re saying, ‘Our love looks just like yours.’ That was my goal.”
For Simpson, being part of Finding Mr. Christmas is both a career milestone and a moment of visibility he hopes will make a difference. “I’m happy to be on this journey,” he said. “If I can inspire even just one person, then it’s all worth it.”
When asked what it truly takes to embody the spirit of Mr. Christmas, Bennett’s advice was simple but heartfelt: “It’s about who you are.”
“Finding Mr. Christmas” premieres Oct. 27th at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes each week through Dec. 15th!
