A new wave of New Yorkers are taking over the scene. On Monday, June 2nd, the cast of Bravo’s new series Next Gen NYC made their red carpet debut!
The series follows rising stars Ariana Biermann, Riley Burruss, Ava Dash, Emira D’Spain, Shai Fruchter, Gia Giudice, Brooks Marks, Georgia McCann, Hudson McLeroy and Charlie Zakkour as they establish their identity while diving headfirst into the chaos that is NYC living.
GLAAD joined the stars at their big NYC premiere at Flyfish Club! They spoke with fashion entrepreneur Brooks Marks, son of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks. The out designer is paving a path of his own in the city that never sleeps.

Brooks and Meredith spoke with GLAAD about the importance of parents supporting their LGBTQ children. “I cannot imagine not having such a close relationship with my mom,” Brooks said. He reminds parents that may be having a hard time accepting their child’s identity, “You only have one relationship with that one child, you should really make it work. Life if too short to care about something as stupid as who someone is going to bed with.”

“It’s so much more fun to just enjoy your kids,” Meredith added. “Have fun with them and respect their choices.”
“Don’t bring a kid into this world if you’re not going to take care of it,” Brooks stated. “100%,” Meredith agreed.
GLAAD also spoke with Emira D’Spain, Paper magazine’s beauty director, as well as one of New York’s most successful content creators, just in time for Pride Month.

She talked about how important it is to her to be bringing trans representation to reality tv. “Milestones like this mean so much.” She said that she’s honored to be “opening the door for people behind [her] as well.”
