The Emmy and GLAAD Media Award winning series We’re Here is back and better than ever. Starting November 25th, drag superstars Eureka O’Hara, Bob The Drag Queen, and Shangela are recruiting diverse groups of local residents from throughout the country to share their stories, increase awareness, and promote acceptance through one-night-only drag shows. In an all-new trailer for the critically acclaimed HBO series, fans get a sneak peak of what to expect in the upcoming season.
Looking stunning as ever, the queens are touring the United States to inspire their “drag daughters’” to express their genuine selves in front of their families, friends, and communities, at times facing increased opposition and anti-LGBTQ legislation laws.
“I didn’t wake up and go ‘I want to be an activist.’ I just want my kid to live her life!” A mother says about her transgender child. Fans will get to hear countless other stories of LGBTQ people and families fighting for their right to be who they are.
Throughout the trailer, the queens are confronted with protestors and hate, trying to shut down their drag show. With the help of their community, the queens will not allow this to happen, because hosting drag shows “saves lives.”
Bob The Drag Queen explains the importance of allies using their voices to speak up against the opposition. “When a bunch of allies show up and are as loud if not louder, that is powerful.”
From makeovers and performances to protests and city council meetings, Eureka O’Hara reminds the world that no matter how hard they try to silence queer people: “We’re here and we’re not going anywhere.”
We’re Here, will return for its six-episode, third season on Friday, November 25th. Episodes will debut weekly on HBO at 10:00 pm ET/PT and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
Fans can also catch Shangela competing on Dancing with the Stars on Disney+, where she and pro dance partner Gleb Savchenko scored a perfect score on Monday night!
