1.) Bleecker Street debuted the official trailer for Ang Lee’s reimagining of the 1993 classic The Wedding Banquet—a joyful comedy about a chosen family navigating the disasters and delights of family expectations, queerness and cultural identity. When Min’s (Han Gi-chan) boyfriend Chris (Bowen Yang) rejects his proposal, he makes an offer to his friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) instead: a green card marriage in exchange for funding for her partner Lee’s (Lily Gladstone) IVF treatments. But their plans go awry when Min’s skeptical grandmother flies in from Korea unannounced. Watch the trailer below and catch The Wedding Banquet in theaters April 18!
2.) IFC Films and Shudder acquired Forbidden Fruits, with a cast that includes out actors Lili Reinhart and Alexandra Shipp! Adapted from Lily Houghton’s play Of the Women Came the Beginning of Sin, and Through Her We All Die, the film follows a witchy femme cult held after hours in the basement of a store in the mall. When a new hire challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate. Keep an eye out for more information and don’t miss Forbidden Fruits in theaters next year!

3.) Out Emmy-winner Dan Bucatinsky joined the cast of thriller The Highest Stakes. In the pic, five strangers are invited to a high-stakes poker game, but as the night unfolds and buried secrets come to light, they discover the game isn’t about winning — it’s about survival. Bucatinsky plays Dr. Scott Stevens, a studious yet anxious surgeon who sells stolen kidneys on the black market to get out of gambling debt. Stay tuned for more updates!

4.) The revolution has arrived in the final season trailer of The Handmaid’s Tale. In season eight, June’s unyielding spirit and determination pull her back into the fight to take down Gilead alongside her lesbian best friend Moira (Samira Wiley) and Luke (O-T Fagbenle). Watch the trailer below and stream the first three episodes of the last season on Hulu April 8!
5.) Apple TV+ dropped first-look photos and a teaser for The Buccaneers, returning to the small screen June 18! Inspired by Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel of the same name, the series tells the story of a group of party-loving American girls in the 1870s who descend upon London to secure a husband and a title, inadvertently kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash. The sophomore season reunites the boisterous friend group, including fan favorite queer couple Mabel Elmsworth (Josie Totah) and Honoria Marable (Mia Threapleton). 6.) Netflix shared a teaser for Tina Fey’s comedy series The Four Seasons, streaming May 1! Based on the 1981 feature of the same name, the show centers on three couples, including Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani), over the course of four vacations as issues old and new bubble to the surface. 7.) In more Netflix news, the eighth and final season of Big Mouth is coming to the streamer May 23! In the season, the Bridgeton teens tackle new challenges as high schoolers: driving, drugs, sexual inexperience, enthusiastic consent, porn and the teenage mind, cancel culture, their changing bodies and fear of a looming future. In addition to returning LGBTQ regulars Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Rannells, the season introduces a slew of queer guest stars, including Cynthia Erivo, Lena Waithe, Keke Palmer, Billy Porter, Stephanie Beatriz, and more! 8.) Lena Waithe’s hit drama The Chi is returning for its seventh season in May! Featuring several queer characters, the Paramount+ with Showtime series centers on an unexpectedly linked group of residents on the south side of Chicago. In the new season, loyalties are tested and new rivalries are stoked as the women of The Chi rise to reclaim power. Stream The Chi on Paramount+ May 16 before its on-air debut May 18.

9.) Paramount+ renewed School Spirits for a third season! The supernatural drama follows Maddie, a teen stuck in the afterlife who investigates her own mysterious disappearance. In the second season, which wrapped just two weeks ago, Maddie must work together with her friends in the both spirit and living worlds—including gay ghost Charlie (Nick Pugliese)—to find a way back before it’s too late. Stream the first two seasons on Paramount+ today and catch new episodes in 2026.
10.) An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlile, an hourlong concert special, is airing on CBS next month! Featuring live performances, John and Carlile discuss their 20-year friendship and provide an inside look at their latest collaboration, the joint album Who Believes in Angels?. Pre-save to the album, out April 4, and watch the concert special April 6 on CBS or streaming on Paramount+!

11.) Self-proclaimed “lesbian overlord” Polly Money debuted her highly anticipated EP T-Shirt Nothing Else, alongside a behind-the-scenes music video for the fourth track “30 Minutes” — check it out below! Rapper and singer-songwriter Ashnikko also dropped the new single “Itty Bitty” and Madame Gandhi shared “Rise!,” the first single off her upcoming album Let Me Be Water, out in May! In more music news, Austin-based indie pop artist Susannah Joffe released the single “Shit Out Of Luck;” catch her on tour in May. Finally, Big Freedia released the single “Take My Hand,” the first taste of the groundbreaking New Orleans queen of bounce’s upcoming gospel album!
