1.) The trailer for One of Them Days, a new comedy from TriStar Pictures, was released this week! The film stars out actress Keke Palmer and SZA as Dreux and Alyssa, best friends and roommates who discover that Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown all their rent money, and they must race to gather the money and avoid eviction. The film is currently set to release on January 25, 2025, so mark your calendars!
2.) A new British comedy The Light Fantastic was announced this week, with a script from queer screenwriter Lee Warburton, and featuring queer actors Nathan Jarrett-Stewart and Layton Williams. The film, inspired by true events, follows a gay firefighter, Jason, whose dream is to become a ballroom dancer. Throughout the film, Jason goes on a journey of self-discovery while trying to navigate the traditions of the ballroom world. Stay tuned for more updates on The Light Fantastic!

3.) Also announced this week was After All, a new drama that will feature bisexual actress Sierra McCormick. The film follows Ellen, a woman who returns home to take care of her sick mother and estranged daughter. When three women across generations are forced into the same space, they go through a journey of self-discovery and forgiveness. Keep an eye out for more news on After All!

4.) Middle-gendered queer actor Lily Gladstone has joined the cast of the upcoming indie comedy In Memoriam. The film follows a veteran actor in Hollywood who is encompassed by the desire to get himself in the Oscar’s “In Memoriam” segment after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. Gladstone will portray the therapist of the main character. Check back here for more news on In Memoriam!

5.) A teaser trailer for the upcoming HBO and Channel 4 drama Get Millie Black was released this week! The series follows ex-Scotland Yard detective Millie Jean-Black as she returns to Kingston, Jamaica to work on missing persons cases. Soon, she finds herself involved in a case that seems impossible to crack and will tear her world apart. The project comes from queer Jamaican writer Marlon James, and will feature transgender actress Chyna McQueen as Hibiscus, Millie’s sister and a member of the Sunlight Ladies, a band of queer outcasts. The series will also feature Curtis, a gay cop and Millie Black’s partner. Tune in November 25 when Get Millie Black premieres on Max!
6.) The trailer for season two of Apple TV+’s black comedy Bad Sisters dropped this week, and the sisters have another body on their hands. Season two is set two years after the events of season one, and once again sees the Garvey sisters, including lesbian sister Bibi, dealing with a corpse years after the “accidental” death of Grace’s abusive husband. Catch the season two premiere November 13 on Apple TV+!
7.) Upcoming Apple TV+ conspiracy thriller series Prime Target released first look photos of the show this week and set a release date of January 22! The series follows Edward Brooks, a young math postgraduate prodigy who is on the verge of a major breakthrough on finding a pattern amongst prime numbers which would give him the key to every computer in the world. As he realizes a mysterious enemy is attempting to thwart this progress, he comes into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, an NSA agent played by nonbinary actor Quintessa Swindells. 8.) Gay actor Luke Evans is set to lead the new thriller series Emergency, based on the real events of a guerilla war in 1950s Malaysia. The series is set during the Malayan Emergency, which saw guerilla war between the communist fighters and Federation of Malaya and the British Empire and the Commonwealth. Told from three different perspectives—a female Malayan Chinese guerilla fighter, a conflicted Malayan cop, and the British Army officer that the police officer reports to—Evans will play the closeted gay British Commander “Mad” Mike Calvert. 9.) Queer actor Lee Pace has joined the cast of Paramount’s reimagining of Stephen King’s novel The Running Man. Pace joins previously announced queer cast member Katy O’Brian. The film centers on Ben Richard, a desperate man who competes on a reality show, the titular Running Man, in order to win money for his sick daughter’s treatment. In the show, Richard is hunted by killers, and must survive to win the money. Watch this space for more updates on The Running Man.

10.) Amazon fantasy series Good Omens will come to an end with a 90-minute special episode. Both stars of the show, Michael Sheen and David Tennant, are set to return and conclude the story of the angel Aziraphele and the demon Crowley. The show features a wide number of queer characters, many of whom will likely continue in the final episode. The special is set to begin filming in early 2025.

11.) Queer artist Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN: ACT II is out today! The announcement comes on the tails of her announcing her documentary, In Her Words, which will be released on October 31. Bisexual artist Halsey also released her new album this week, titled The Great Impersonator. The album was recorded while Halsey was dealing with her Lupus and T-Cell disorder diagnoses, and the birth of her son. Finally, bisexual singer-songwriter Soccer Mommy released her new album today, titled Evergreen, which focuses on “organic textures” and features her songwriting at its core.

12.) In other music news, Pom Pom Squad, fronted by queer artist Mia Berrin, released their new album, Mirror Stars Moving Without Me, today! A new album from queer Korean-American artist St. Lenox, titled Ten Modern American Work Songs, is also out today; check out the music video for single “Your Local Neighborhood Bar.” Queer artist Bryce Bowyn released his new single “Wicked Wings” and queer band The FMs released their new single “Future Pope.” Trans artist Jane Remover releases her new remix of Frost Children and Danny Brown’s Shake It Like A this week, and queer artist Anna Shoemaker’s new single “Game of Thrones” is also out now with an official video. Finally, bisexual pop singer-songwriter Ceara Cavalieri released the sassy anthem “Delusional” and MUNA’s Katie Gavin dropped her debut solo album What A Relief.
