1.) The first trailer for Amazon MGM Studios’ My Old Ass has arrived! The Sundance crowd-pleaser watches free-spirited teenager Elliot (Maisy Stella) come face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old future self (out actress Aubrey Plaza). Before leaving for college, Elliott is determined to have one last summer of good times and girl-crushes. But when her “old ass” starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliot realizes she has to rethink everything about her life and who she is destined to become. 2.) The groundbreaking documentary CONVERSION is available for presale today! When filmmaker Zach Meiners discovered that his former conversion “therapist” was still active, he began an endeavor to amplify and empower survivors while exposing the secretive and often deadly industry. With interviews from doctors, experts, and the founder of one of the most expansive conversion “therapy” networks in the US, CONVERSION is a thought provoking insight into a dangerous industry that is constantly rebranding, adapting, and growing to this day. Ultimately a film about strength and hope, CONVERSION aims to give a voice to survivors of conversion “therapy,” who are often left out of the conversation, including RuPaul’s Drag Race season ten star Dustin Rayburn, otherwise known as Dusty Ray bottoms, and DEI speaker, trainer, author, and ex-Mormon mom Elena Joy Thurston. 3.) Kino Lorber has unveiled a trailer for Mikko Mäkelä’s upcoming drama Sebastian. In the film, Max (out actor Ruaridh Mollica) is a 25-year-old aspiring writer who begins moonlighting as a sex worker with the pseudonym Sebastian, secretly using his experiences to write his long-awaited debut novel. As he confronts conflicting feelings of ecstasy, shame, and exhilarating liberation, Max has to reckon with whether Sebastian is merely a writer’s tool to achieve first-hand authenticity or whether something more is at stake. 4.) Comedian Jen Kober’s sophomore special No Flies On Me is available now! In the stand-up show, the lesbian storyteller brings audiences together with stories about dealing with hometown hicks, unforgiving fruit flies, California candy cartels, and more. Watch No Flies On Me today!

5.) From the creators of Will & Grace and Ryan Murphy comes a new Hulu comedy starring gay actors Matt Bomer and Nathan Lane! Mid-Century Modern follows three best friends — gay gentlemen of a certain age — who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living in Palm Springs together. Lane will play a wealthy businessman, Bunny Scneiderman, who’s forever in search of love, and Bomer will play Jerry Frank, who has a pure heart, hard of body and soft of head. 6.) Anne Rice’s Interview with a Vampire lives on for a third season! Based on Rice’s gothic novel, the contemporary adaptation chronicles Louis de Pointe de Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt and Claudia’s story of love and immortality, as told through interviews with journalist Daniel Molloy. In the upcoming season, Vampire Lestat starts a band and goes on tour, embarking on a pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. Don’t miss Interview with the Vampire’s season two finale on June 30!

7.) Netflix’s Mindy Kaling basketball series Running Point has added out actor Scott Evans to the all-star cast! Evans plays Charlie, Sandy Gordon’s (bisexual actor Drew Tarver) boyfriend whom he has been keeping a secret from the rest of the family. In the 10-part comedy, scandal forces her brother to resign and Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is appointed President of the Los Angeles Waves. Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla has to prove to her skeptical brothers (Tarver and Scott MacArthur), the board, and the sports community at large that she is the right candidate for the job.

8.) Queer advocacy group Out in Hollywood debuted its fourth annual list of unproduced queer-focused television pilot scripts of the past year! The Out Loud List is created based on recommendations from the LGBTQ community in Hollywood. Using a modified version of GLAAD’s Vito Russo Test, scripts are evaluated based on criteria including the strength of the writer’s voice, viability of the project to be sold in today’s marketplace, and conceptual freshness. 9.) Queer recording artist Cassie Taylor released the official lyric video for her latest single “DEADNAME (Find You),” featuring BIPOC trans artists Cuee and Dante Foley. In a partnership with Cuee, Dante Foley and Point of Pride—a nonprofit dedicated to providing trans people with access to life-changing, gender-affirming health and wellness services—every stream, download, and share will directly benefit the trans and nonbinary communities; watch the video below! Additionally, Austin’s experimental folk artist Jenny Parrott debuted their new album Love Spell, which boasts captivating bilingual vocals as lyrics cover themes like coming out, queer history, and mental health. Watch the music video for the single “When I’m In Need of a Loving God.” Out singer-songwriter Rae Isla also shared “New Frontier,” the title track of her upcoming album, out July 19, accompanied by an update to her original browser game. In more music news, queer Nashville-based singer-songwriter and activist Heather Mae debuted her new single “All I Wanna Do,” influenced by the story of Naomi and Ruth, a rare biblical example of sapphic love, and artist MARIS released her new single “The Fight.” The Future Perfect Project also shared their sophomore full-legnth album written and recorded by LGBTQ youth as part of the Future Perfect Records residency and queer Emmy-nominated composer Emma Jayne released a new single “Analysis,” with a special cabaret version coming next month! Finally, out alt-pop artist and influencer Boy Jr. also dropped a new single “Bullying Myself,” off their upcoming full legnth DIY album I Love Getting Dumped.
10.) Flame Con, the world’s largest queer comic convention, continues to celebrate its tenth anniversary with the announcement of new special guests: Emmy Award-winning animator ND Stevenson and LA Times Book Prize finalist Sara Myer. This year’s Flame Con expo will take place on August 17-18 in New York City and will include thoughtful discussions, exclusive performances, cosplay and more with creators and special guests from all corners of the LGBTQ community.
