Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBTQ-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.
1.) Strand Releasing has unveiled the official U.S. trailer for drama film All Shall Be Well, which tells the story of an estate battle bound by anti-LGBTQ laws in Hong Kong. It’s all familial harmony and a queer-friendly community for Pat and Angie, a lesbian couple in their late 60s. But when Pat suddenly passes away, Angie finds herself at the mercy of her extended family as she struggles to retain both her dignity and the home that they shared for over thirty years. All Shall Be Well opens September 20 at Film Forum in New York City, followed by a national speciality roll-out. Watch the trailer below!
2.) A new clip of Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln has been released! As told by preeminent Lincoln scholars and never before seen photographs and letters, the documentary chronicles the intimate life of America’s most consequential president. While filling in an important missing piece of American history, the film explores the profound differences between sexual mores of the nineteenth century and today. 3.) Sony and Marvel have debuted a trailer for Kraven the Hunter, featuring Oscar winner Ariana DeBose! The pic tells the origin story of Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his father motivates him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared. DeBose portrays Calypso, a voodoo priestess and Kraven’s love interest. Catch Kraven the Hunter in theaters December 13 and check out the trailer below!
4.) Alexandra Shipp has been set to lead Midnight, an upcoming action thriller, alongside Rosario Dawson and Milla Jovovich. The film follows a young, blind woman (Shipp) as she is hunted by a group of international criminals in search of a package they believe she possesses. However, the assailants quickly discover that the woman, though unable to see, may be far more dangerous than expected. In more casting news, Industry star Myha’la has boarded the horror comedy They Will Kill You. In the film, a woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building’s history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. 5.) Hulu has dropped the official trailer for Only Murders in the Building season four, returning to the streamer August 27! In the new season, Charles, Oliver and Mabel wrestle with Sazz Pataki’s (Jane Lynch) untimely demise, taking them to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is preparing a film about the Only Murders podcast. Soon, the trio race back to New York to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents. Watch the trailer below and stream Only Murders in the Building later this month!
6.) Less than two months after the pilot, Hulu has given a series order to Mid-Century Modern, starring executive producers Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer, as well as Nathan Lee Graham and Linda Lavin! From the creators of Will & Grace and Ryan Murphy, the comedy series follows three best friends (Lane, Bomer, and Graham) — gay gentlemen of a certain age — who decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs. In other Murphy news, FX has set a premiere date for his new horror drama series Grotesque, starring out actresses Neicy Nash-Betts and Micaela Diamond! In the show, Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) investigates heinous crimes that have unsettled her small community. With no leads, Tryon accepts the help of Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun and journalist who believes in humanity’s capacity for good. Catch Grotesque on FX at 10pm ET on September 25 or stream the following day on Hulu!

7.) Fresh off of four Emmy nominations, Peacock has renewed the hit Alan Cumming-hosted reality series The Traitors for two more seasons! The Traitors is a competition show where contestants, or “the faithful,” work together on missions to win a prize of up to $250,000 while trying to uncover the secret players working against them. The upcoming third season includes out contestants Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser, Bob the Drag queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Chrishell Stause from Selling Sunset, and more!

8.) Acclaimed sister pop duo REYNA has shared a self-directed music video for their single “Mexico;” check it out below! In other music news, queer alt-rock artist Vienna Vienna has dropped his latest single track “Best of Me,” alongside an official lyric video! Electro-pop artist Gregory Dillon has also debuted his haunting anthem “Catatonic.” Last but certainly not least, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have released a new duet ‘Die With a Smile,” with a music video!
9.) Trans actress Tommy Dorfman is making her Broadway debut as The Nurse/Tybalt in the upcoming production Romeo + Juliet, starring Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler! In the show, an impulsive pair of star-crossed lovers hurtle towards their inescapable fate as the intoxicating high of passion descends into brutal chaos. Romeo + Juliet begins performances on September 26 at the Circle in the Square Theatre, with an official opening night set for October 24; secure your tickets today!

10.) GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics have revealed the winners of the 2024 Dorian TV Awards this week! Max’s Hacks led the pack with four prizes, followed by AMC’s Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire with three, and Showtime/Paramount+’s Fellow Travelers with two. Other winners include Baby Reindeer, Reservation Dogs, The Traitors, and more; check out the full list of winners!
