1.) The acclaimed feature debut from lesbian writer-director Fawzia Mirza, The Queen of My Dreams hit theaters today! Produced by GLAAD’s Senior Consultant Andria Wilson, the pic follows Azra (Amrit Kaur), a queer Pakistani graduate student navigating a complicated relationship with her conservative mother. After a family tragedy suddenly strikes, Azra embarks on a Bollywood-inspired journey through memories, both real and imagined; from her mother’s youth in Karachi to her own coming-of-age in rural Canada. 2.) Zackary Drucker’s latest documentary Enigma is now streaming on Max! Chronicling the divergent paths of iconic transgender pioneers April Ashley and Amanda Lear, the film reveals the disparate but intertwined stories of women whose lives helped shape trans culture and history. Each resilient and defiant in her own way, Ashley and Lear are joined by other trailblazing women—including Bambi, Dolly Van Doll, Allanah Starr, and Morgan M. 3.) Outfest Jury Award-winning documentary Jeannette is available on VOD. Maris Curran’s intimate portrait of a competitive bodybuilder and lesbian single mother focuses on the tenderness of healing and the power of resilience. Set in the aftermath of Orlando’s Pulse nightclub mass shooting and Hurricane María, the titular Jeannette balances the relentlessness of daily existence with the realities of living through trauma. 4.) Oliver Hermanus’ period gay romance The History of Sound is coming to the big screen this fall! In the film, talented music student Lionel (Paul Mescal) meets David (Josh O’Connor) at a Boston Conservatory, where they bond over their mutual love of folk music. Years later, Lionel receives a letter from David, leading to an unexpected and life changing reunion. Don’t miss The History of Sound in theaters September 12.

5.) Three-time Tony winner Billy Porter is headed to Panem in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, hitting theaters November 20, 2026. In the anticipated adaptation of the bestselling book by Suzanne Collins, Porter plays Magno Stift, Drusilla Sickle’s (Glenn Close) estranged husband and the Tributes’ uninspired designer. The film is set 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games. In other casting news, out multi-hyphenate Keke Palmer is joining the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ new Spaceballs sequel. Though plot and character information are being kept under wraps, Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis are set to reprise their respective roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet. 6.) Netflix debuted the official trailer for the second and final season of The Sandman, featuring nonbinary character Desire, played by nonbinary actor Mason Alexander Park. In the season, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. 7.) The Traitors unveiled the cast of the highly-anticipated upcoming fourth season! Hosted by queer icon Alan Cumming, this season features a slew of LGBTQ celebrities including Olympic Figure Skater Johnny Weir, Top Chef host Kristen Kish, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Monét X Change, and Survivor winner Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho. 8.) In more casting news, Project Runway announced the guest judges joining out fashion trailblazer Law Roach on the panel. LGBTQ judges in the newly refreshed series include Zac Posen, Jenna Lyons, Christian Cowan and Harris Reed. 9.) Hulu dropped the first teaser of Chad Powers, featuring out actor Frankie A. Rodriguez. In the half-hour comedy, hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday (Glen Powell) disguises himself as the titular football player to join a new team after tanking his own college career. 10.) Nonbinary indie folk musician Becca Mancari teamed up with JOSEPH—composed of sisters Natalie and Meegan Closner—on the new single “I Believe In Myself.” Find the lyric video below! Emerging nonbinary artist Burry also debuted their latest single “Scorpio Sun” and out artist Joey Miceli dropped the single “Remedy,” featuring queer dark-pop princess LEXXE. Finally, acclaimed gay singer-songwriter Wrabel shared the song “future” alongside an official visualizer!
