1.) The Listener, produced by and starring out actress Tessa Thompson, hits theaters today! The drama centers on Beth (Thompson), a helpline volunteer who fields calls from all kinds of people feeling lonely, broken, and hopeless. During tonight’s shift, the stakes rise: is this the night she will save a hurting soul — or lose one? 2.) Coinciding with Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), Beyond the Aggressives: 25 Years Later is set to premiere on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME on March 30. The GLAAD Media Award-nominated documentary is a follow-up to the groundbreaking 2005 film The Aggressives, which centered the experiences of transmasculine people of color. Today, the film revisits the subjects and their lives since the seminal film premiered 25 years ago. SHOWTIME is collaborating with organizations including GLAAD, Trans Equity Consulting, GLSEN, and the Transgender Law Center to deepen conversations about gender, identity, visibility, and reimagined futures for people to thrive and live as their truest selves. 3.) The first clip of gay visionary Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film Challengers has arrived! The sports drama film tells the story of Tashi (Zendaya), a former tennis prodigy turned coach who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to Art (Mike Faist), a champion on a losing streak, Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor) — his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, Tashi must ask herself what it will cost to win. Check out the clip below and watch Challengers in theaters April 26!
4.) Wolfe Releasing’s Sue Bird: In the Clutch is now available to rent or purchase! In her 21-year professional career, WNBA basketball legend Sue Bird has won five Olympic gold medals, becoming the most successful point guard to ever play the game. Alongside her fiancée, U.S. soccer star Megan Rapinoe, Sue confronts her next challenge — retiring from the only life she’s ever known. 5.) Transgender multimedia artist Zackary Drucker has been set to direct the upcoming Candy Darling biopic alongside out multi-hyphenate John Cameron Mitchell as executive producer. The Andy Warhol superstar is played by trans actress Hari Nef and will trace Darling’s childhood in Long Island through her years alongside underground icons Holly Woodlawn and Jackie Curtis to the Velvet Underground and beyond. 6.) Todd Phillip’s eagerly awaited sequel Joker: Folie à Deux, starring out singer-songwriter and actress Lady Gaga, is set to be “mostly a jukebox musical,” featuring at least 15 reinterpretations of well-known songs. Though details about these tracks remain under wraps, it will likely include a cover of “That’s Entertainment” from the 1953 musical The Band Wagon. Keep an eye out for more information before the film hits theaters on October 4. In other film news, A Simple Favor 2 is officially returning to the big screen! The black comedy sequel sees Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) head to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed the return of original cast members, including gay actor Andrew Rannells, and has added out Tony winner Alex Newell to the ensemble.

7.) Out Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose has been set to star in 87North’s With Love opposite Ke Huy Quan. Universal Pictures will release the film on February 7, 2025. In more DeBose news, the Academy Award winner is returning as host of the 77th Annual Tony Awards! She will choreograph the opening number and serve as a producer for the show, which will take place on June 16 at the David H. Koch Theater at the Lincoln Center. The Tony’s will be streamed live at 8:00pm ET on CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.; find out more here!

8.) Disney+ has debuted a new trailer for the highly anticipated Ncuti Gatwa-led season of Doctor Who! The upcoming season follows the Doctor (Gatwa) and his companion Ruby Sunday as they adventure from the Regency era in England all the way to war-torn future worlds in a time-traveling ship. Along the way, they encounter incredible friends and dangerous foes, including a terrifying bogeyman, and the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet. With a jam packed queer cast—including trans actors Yasmin Finney and Peter MacHale—and gay screenwriter Russell T. Davies returning as showrunner for the first time since 2009, this season may just be the queerest one yet! Doctor Who begins streaming May 10 at 7pm ET on Disney+. 9.) Prime Video’s Harlem is officially returning for a third season! The comedy series follows four stylish and ambitious best friends living in Harlem NYC—the mecca of Black culture in America—including queer leads Tye (out actress Jerrie Johnson) and Quinn (Grace Byers). Last season, Tye tried to figure out how to make meaningful connections while navigating a nasty divorce and Quinn sought out balance as she rode the emotional roller coaster of life. New recurring cast members include Kofi Siriboe, Logan Browning, Robin Givens, and Gail Bean.

10.) Nonbinary actor Liv Hewson has joined the cast of Among Us. The animated series, based on the hugely popular game’s premise, centers on members of a crew who have been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone. Hewson will voice Black, a geologist who prefers rocks to people.

11.) Queer pop star Fletcher shared the official music video to the single “Pretending,” off her recently released album Anticdote; check out the video below! Beyoncé’s highly anticipated Cowboy Carter, out at midnight, features a duet with out star Miley Cyrus on the track “II Most Wanted!” Additionally, queer singer-songwriter Gatlin dropped a double single release today – an original song “Too Much Woman,” and a cover of Hoobastank’s 2003 hit “The Reason.”
12.) In more music news, Brooklyn-based rock meets riot grrrl punk trio MONTE, featuring out lead guitarist and singer-songwriter Caitlin Montclare, debuted their new single “Dysfunctional Mess;” stay tuned for the band’s first full length album out late spring or early summer! Out singer-songwriter Jamie Hannah also dropped his single “What If” and queer soulful R&B artist Jay Kent shared the single “Texting,” paying homage to the ever-opaque sapphic situationship. Trans bedroom pop artist and producer Layla Eden, professionally known as awfultune, released the single “get high w me,” the latest offering off their forthcoming Ep, unreleased demos II, out May 10; check out the official lyric video! Finally, out songwriter, musician and producer Lawrence Rothman shared a new song “Yesterday Tomorrow,” off their upcoming album out April 26, alongisde a music video! Finally, queer and neurodivergent alt-pop artist CLAY dropped the single “Think of You” off their upcoming album Waiting for God in the Garden, out May 24; watch the music video below!
