1.) NEON’s latest documentary feature Seeking Mavis Beacon hit select theaters today! “Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing” taught millions globally, but the software’s Haitian-born cover model vanished decades ago. This film watches two Black queer DIY detectives—director Jazmin Jones and co-collaborator Olivia McKayla Ross—as they search for the most recognizable woman in technology while posing questions about identity and artificial intelligence. 2.) The intimate film Elton John: Never Too Late is coming to Disney+ December 13! Directed by John’s husband David Furnish and R.J. Cutler, the documentary follows the titular icon as he prepares for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium, taking viewers back in time to recount the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his 50-year career. 3.) In more documentary news, Fuse Media unveiled the official trailer for Unfightable, from Emmy Award-winning director Marc J. Perez. The doc tells the extraordinary story of Alana McLaughlin, a distinguished U.S. Army Special Forces Sergeant and transgender athlete fighting for control of her life and her narrative by competing as a professional MMA fighter. Unfightable is making its theatrical debut in New York September 13 and in Los Angeles September 20. In the coming months, the doc will also premiere for Spanish language audiences on ViX, as well as English audiences on Fuse; check out the trailer below!
4.) Universal shared a first-look of Jurassic World Rebirth, starring gay actor Jonathan Bailey opposite Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali. Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Domination, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments and the three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that could bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind. Bailey plays a paleontologist named Dr. Henry Loomis. Jurassic World Rebirth is set to hit theaters July 2, 2025; check out the image below!

5.) A24 landed the distribution rights to Queer, the latest film from Academy Award-winning director Luca Guadagnino! Adapted from the novel of the same name, the romance drama is set in 1950s Mexico City and follows William Lee (Daniel Craig), an American expat leading a solitary life in his late 40s. However, the arrival of a young student, Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey), stirs William into finally establishing a meaningful connection with someone. Stay tuned for more information!

6.) Julia Fox joined the cast of the upcoming romantic drama Perfect! Set in a scenic-but-rundown lakeside resort in California where climate change has contaminated the water supply, Fox plays a wealthy pregnant woman who is living out an escapist fantasy as she falls in love with a younger woman (Ashley Moore). In more casting news, François Arnaud boarded the dark comedy Twinless, alongside the newest additions Chris Perfetti, Tasha Smith, Susan Park! While details of the newcomers’ roles remain under wraps, the film follows two men who strike up an unlikely bromance after meeting in a twin bereavement support group. 7.) HBO dropped a new teaser of Somebody Somewhere, returning for a third and final season October 7! The critically acclaimed dramedy centers on Sam (Bridget Everett), who moves back to her Kansas hometown. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in, but don’t give up. In the upcoming season, the group grows against all odds, including Sam’s gay best friend Joel (Jeff Hiller) and emcee Fred (Murray Hill). Find the teaser below!
8.) Disney+ revealed another teaser of Agatha All Along, hitting the streamer September 18! In Marvel’s first WandaVision spin-off, Kathryn Hahn reprises her role as Agatha Harkness and finds herself out of power until a mysterious gay Teen (Joe Locke) helps break her free from a distorted spell. Together, Agatha and the Teen pull together a desperate new coven, including warrior witch Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza), to conquer the legendary Witches’ Road. 9.) Over a decade after the finale of What Not to Wear, the iconic fashion duo Stacy London and Clinton Kelly are returning to the small screen in Amazon’s Wear Whatever The F You Want. In the eight-part series, the pair will team up to celebrate individual style with a brand new group of people. Look out for release details!

10.) Apple TV+ renewed the bilingual comedy series Acapulco for a fourth season! The hit show follows Máximo Gallardo, a young Mexican man who lands his dream job at Acapulco’s hottest resort, Las Colinas. However, Máximo soon realizes that the job is more complicated than he expected as he faces conflicts with his family (including his lesbian sister Sara) and coworkers. 11.) Brooklyn-based songwriter Saint Ahmad dropped his latest electro-pop banger “On Go” and rock duo Mediocre released the single “Litterbug!” alongside a music video; check it out below! Indie pop/rock singer-songwriter allie also shared the title track “Every Dog” off her upcoming self-produced sophomore studio album and trans multi-hyphenate Britney Manson released her debut EP Hot Couture. Pre-save the LP today and watch the track’s music video! Additionally, the JUNO Award-nominated band Valley debuted their third album Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden. 12.) Acclaimed French singer-songwriter Lucky Love performed a new version of his track “Masculinity” at the Paris Paralympic Games opening ceremony this week; watch the performance of his reimagined song “My Ability” below!
