1.) Live from a theater near you, it’s Saturday Night! Based on the real-life behind-the-scenes accounts of the 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live in 1975, the film depicts the humor, chaos and magic of a revolution that changed television and culture forever. Catch Saturday Night in theaters today and keep an eye out for queer stars Cory Michael Smith, Ella Hunt and Naomi McPherson!
2.) Nonbinary House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy is reuniting with director Alex Lawther to lead the chilling horror short film Rhoda. In the short, the eponymous character (Juliet Stevenson) takes in Louis (D’Arcy), a young, strange lodger who disturbs Rhoda with devastating consequences. Rhoda premiered this week at BFI’s 2024 London Film Festival; watch the trailer below!

3.) Ahead of the final season premiere of Somebody Somewhere on October 27, HBO dropped the official trailer for the GLAAD Media Award nominated dramedy! The series follows Kansas resident Sam (Bridget Everett), who is struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but never give up. In the new season, the group grows against all odds, including Sam’s best friend Joel (gay actor and comedian Jeff Hiller) and emcee Fred (trans drag king Murray Hill). 4.) Paramount+ unveiled the official trailer for the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks! The animated comedy series focuses on the support crew serving one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos. This season, the underdog crew—including bisexual rule-breaker Beckett Mariner—must close “space potholes,” which are causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. 5.) Beloved Essex College suitemates return in The Sex Lives of College Girls season three teaser, premiering on Max November 21! The hit comedy-drama follows four unlikely best friends, including lesbian legacy student Leighton Murray (lesbian actress Reneé Rapp), as they conquer the trials and tribulations of college life. In the teaser below, Bela goes after the school mascot, Kimberly accidentally swipes right on Whitney’s dad, and Whitney searches for a new boo after breaking up with Canaan. While Leighton only appears in a handful of episodes, this season welcomes queer Bottoms breakout star Ruby Cruz in an undisclosed role! Catch new episodes of The Sex Lives of College Girls weekly at 9pm ET from November 21 to January 23.
6.) FX shared a new teaser for the sixth season of What We Do in the Shadows, premiering later this month! The GLAAD Media Award-winning series captures the nightly exploits of Nandor, Lazlo, Nadja, and Colin Robinson as they navigate the modern world of Staten Island with the help of their former familiar and current human friend Guillermo (queer actor Harvey Guillén). In the final season, Guillermo is left questioning his role as a familiar and reevaluates his entire life. Meanwhile, the vampires wake up their former roommate Jerry, enter the workforce, and attend a human dinner party. 7.) Gay director Anthony Hemingway is re-teaming up with Ryan Murphy as director and executive producer of All’s Fair. The upcoming Hulu legal drama is led by out actresses Sarah Paulson and Neicy Nash-Betts alongside Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Glenn Close and more! In what Murphy describes as a “high-end glossy and sexy adult procedural,” All’s Fair follows a successful divorce lawyer and the owner of an all-women law firm in Los Angeles. 8.) WOW Presents Plus announced a November 1 premiere date for Drag Race Down Under season four, revealing the ten queens competing for the title of “Down Under’s Next Drag Superstar!” With Michelle Visage hosting and presiding over the reality competition, queens from Australia and New Zealand are judged by gay and nonbinary comedian Rhys Nicholson alongside rotating Down Under drag royalty. 9.) Lesbian country singer-songwriter Crys Matthews unveiled “Waking Up Dead,” the second single off the upcoming album Reclamation—watch the official music video below! In more music news, queer electropop luminary Gregory Dillon dropped a new music video for single “Burning Kisses!” Additionally, trans and asexual bedroom-pop artist Cavetown released the delicate new track “Magic 8 Ball” with an official music video, and bisexual singer-songwriter mxmtoon shared the mellow single “rain” with a visualizer! Self-procalimed “Kentucky-fried queerdo” Rej Forester, otherwise known as GRLwood, also debuted the second album in their trilogy SWEAT, which includes single “17;” check out their first album BLOOD and stay tuned for TEARS! Finally, queer Korean-American artist St. Lenox released a tribute to graduate student unions and the DSA in the “Lust for Life” video; pre-order Ten Modern American Works Songs LP, due out October 25!
10.) The rumored bio-musical starring gay actor Jonathan Groff has been confirmed! Produced by Groff, Just In Time centers on Bobby Darin, whose short but remarkable life took him from teen idol to global sensation, inspiring generations of performers who followed. The show opens April 23, 2025, with previews beginning on March 28!
