1) The anticipated sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue has announced its new title and director. The film will be called Red, White & Royal Wedding and will be helmed by But I’m a Cheerleader director Jamie Babbit, with a screenplay by original author Casey McQuiston, director of the first movie Matthew López, and Gemma Burgess.

2) Neon has acquired TIFF film The Christophers, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring out actor Ian McKellan. The film follows Julian Skylar (McKellan), a painter who hasn’t painted in years since he painted pictures of his ex-lover Christoper. The film is looking at a 2026 theatrical release.

3) Filmmaker Lindsay Calleran has cast her debut feature Caity, starring Chiara Aurelia and Morgan Spector as Caity and Paul, a daughter and father preparing for Halloween season in their family-owned haunted house. Caity finds her father showing signs of relapse from society, all while she is developing feelings for a new employee, Hannah.

4) Out filmmaker and actor Eva Victor has been cast in the upcoming film Behemoth!, starring Pedro Pascal and David Harbour. The film will be directed by Tony Gilroy and come from Searchlight Pictures, though plot details are still unknown.

5) The trailer has been released for the highly anticipated season two of Apple TV’s comedy Palm Royale. The show follows Maxine Dellacorte (Kristen Wiig) as she endeavors to find her footing in the cutthroat world of Palm Beach high society. The cast includes Ricky Martin as gay character Robert Diaz, and season two’s list of guest stars includes out comedian Matt Rogers. Season two premieres November 12 on Apple TV.
6) Out actress Kate McKinnon has been cast in season three of Percy Jackson. She will play Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty who can change her appearance depending on the beholder. Season three of Percy Jackson is currently in production, and season two will premiere on Disney+ on December 10.

7) UK-based queer band The Last Dinner Party released their newest album From the Pyre today. Listen to the album here, and click here for information on their upcoming tour. 8) Out performer Evann McIntosh released their newest single “Free Ride” this week, along with an accompanying music video. Watch the video below! 9) LGBTQ film festival Outfest has announced the lineup for their festival OutfestNEXT, returning after a hiatus in partnership with HBO Max. The festival includes 20 films including All That We Love, starring Margaret Cho and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Dust Bunny, the feature debut of Bryan Fuller, the 25th anniversary of Greg Berlanti’s The Broken Hearts Club, and more. 10) New experimental Off Broadway show Good Sex has set its cast. The concept of the show is that two actors who have never read the material will perform it for the first with intimacy coordinators. The line-up of actors includes out stars John Cameron Mitchell, Elliot Page, and Brandon Flynn. Good Sex runs from November 5-8 at Brooklyn Powerhouse Arts.
