1.) Welcome to a different kind of drag race! The immersive vérité documentary Queen of New York chronicles the remarkable journey of activist and drag queen Marti Cummings as they embark on a historic campaign to become New York City’s first out nonbinary council member. The film is narrated by gay superstar Billy Porter and features Representative Alexandria Osacio-Cortez and queer comedian Ilana Glazer alongside nearly 20 NYC-based drag artists. 2.) Gay visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers hits select theaters today! The film follows Tashi Duncan (Zendaya), a former tennis prodigy turned coach, who has transformed her husband Art (Mike Faist) from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of a losing streak, Tashi enters Art into a “Challenger” event against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor) — his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. 3.) The trailer for dark indie comedy Cora Bora has arrived! The film stars bisexual Hacks breakout Megan Stalter as the titular Cora, a struggling musician in an open relationship who makes a surprise trip to Portland to win back her girlfriend Justine (gay actress Jojo T. Gibbs). Upon arrival, Cora quickly realizes that it’s much more than her love life that needs salvaging. Find the trailer below and watch Cora Bora in theaters June 14!
4.) In the newly released Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, nonbinary actor Emma Corrin makes their MCU debut! Based on the titular Marvel Comics characters, Wolverine and Deadpool team up to defeat a common enemy. Corrin will play the super villain and mutant Cassandra Nova. 5.) Quentin Lee’s LGBTQ stand-up comedy special Laugh Proud is headed for the big screen May 17 in Los Angeles! The film spotlights nine diverse comics—Jason Stuart, Kit DeZolt, Amanda Alvich, Christian Cintron, Brian Clark aka Brucey, Rowan Niles, Juno Men, Asha Hall, and Seven Graham AKA 7G—as they perform short sets hosted by trans drag activist Jazzmun. 6.) Out stars Lily Gladstone and Bowen Yang are starring in a remake of Ang Lee’s 1993 The Wedding Banquet from gay director Andrew Ahn. When Min’s boyfriend Chris (Yang) rejects his marriage proposal, Min convinces his best friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) to marry him instead. In a mutually beneficial agreement, Min pays for IVF treatments for Angela’s partner Liz (Gladstone) in exchange for his green card and the approval of his family. However, things take a turn when Min’s grandmother makes a surprise visit from Seoul to throw the couple a Korean wedding banquet. As more information surfaces, be sure to check out Gladstone’s other queer projects: Hulu’s miniseries Under the Bridge and Apple TV+’s upcoming film Fancy Dance.

7.) Elliot Page’s production company, PAGEBOY Productions, is bringing the Stonewall Honor Award-winning queer YA sci-fi novel The Darkness Outside Us to the screen. Written by gay author Eliot Schrefer, the book tells the tender love story of two boys from enemy countries aboard a spaceship on a rescue mission. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on the film, as well as the book’s upcoming sequel, The Brightness Between Us, out October 1.

8.) Gay director Stephan Elliott has announced a sequel to his Oscar-winning 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The cult classic film follows three drag queens—Anthony Belrose/Mitzi Del Bra (Hugo Weaving), Adam White/Felicia Jollygoodfellow (Guy Pearce) and trans woman Bernadette Bassenger (Terence Stamp)—as they drive a tour bus from Sydney to Alice Springs in Australia. In more film news, gay Search Party star Jeffery Self has boarded the upcoming thriller Drop from out filmmaker Christopher Landon. Stay tuned as more details about the film are announced.
30 years after the release of “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” the cult classic from director Stephan Elliott is getting a sequel. Original trio of stars Terence Stamp, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving will return to their roles for the new film.

9.) BBC’s new queer dating show I Kissed a Girl is almost here! The reality dating series follows 10 single queer women in an Italian villa who are matched into pairs and will meet “with a kiss” to test their chemistry. The I Kissed a Boy spin-off brings back Dannii Minogue as presenter and introduces lesbian comedian Charley Marlowe as the new narrator. The first two episodes premiere on BBC iPlayer on May 5, and new episodes air on BBC Three every Sunday and Monday; learn more about the 10 hopefuls!

10.) Gay Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey has boarded the highly-anticipated third season of Heartstopper. In the season, beloved LGBTQ friend group—including Charlie (Joe Locke), Nick (Kit Connor), Elle (trans actress Yasmin Finney), Isaac (out actor Tobie Donovan), Tara (Corinna Brown), Darcy (out actor Kizzy Edgell), and more—continue to navigate the joys and struggles of adolescence, from mental health challenges to sex to university choices. Bailey will make a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, Charlie’s Instagram-famous celebrity crush.

11.) GLAAD Media Award-winner David Archuleta revealed the official music video for his new single “Hell Together;’ check it out below! Indie folk band Florist has released an ethereal single and video for the upcoming film I Saw the TV Glow, starring out actors Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine. The full album— featuring out artists Bartees Strange, yeule, Jay Som and more— arrives May 10. Don’t miss the Jane Schoenbrun directed film in select theaters May 3! In other music news, queer experimental alt-pop rising star RAEGAN dropped her awaited debut EP FUCK RAEGEN and queer and neurodivergent alt-pop artist CLAY shared a new single and visual “Fade Away,” the latest release from their forthcoming EP Waiting for God in the Garden, out May 24.
12.) Isaac Dunbar, a GLAAD 20 under 20 honoree and GLAAD Media Award-nominee, released his anticipated new EP Beep Beep Repeat. Lesbian pop powerhouse Xana also debuted a new single “Monster;” pre-save her sophomore LP The Sex Was Good Until It Wasn’t and grab your tickets to The Sex Was Good Tour, beginning June 1. Finally, NYC-based drag queen Lagoona Bloo dropped her debut studio album Underwater Bubble Pop and fellow drag queen Sapphira Cristál announced The Cristál Ball Tour, kicking off July 11; secure your tickets today!

13.) The beloved Off Broadway comedy Oh, Mary! is transferring to Broadway this summer! Written by and starring nonbinary multihyphenate Cole Escola, the play’s all-star cast includes out actors Conrad Ricamora, James Scully, and Peter Smith. Oh, Mary! will begin previews on Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre on June 26 ahead of a July 11 opening night and runs through September 15. In more Broadway news, out playwright Paula Vogel’s semi-autobiographical project Mother Play is currently in performances at the Helen Hayes Theater! The play centers on Vogel’s own mother, Phyllis Rita, played by Jessica Lange, and her two kids, played by Keenan-Bolger and gay actor Jim Parsons, over 40 years and five apartments.

14.) Out Oscar-winner Billie Eilish has teamed up with Fortnite as the “Icon” of the Rock Band-esque Fortnite Festival season three, live now until June 13. During this time, players can unlock new Instruments, Jack Packs, and other items in the Season Three Festival Pass, which has a free reward track and a Premium Reward Track upgrade. Eilish has also shared the project’s track list, featuring the titles “Skinny,” “Lunch,” “L’Amour De Ma Vie,” and more. Watch the new Fortnite Festival trailer below!
