1.) The heartfelt rom-com Picture This is streaming on Prime Video! The pic follows struggling photographer Pia (Simone Ashley), who is told that true love and career success await her in the next five dates she goes on. With her sister’s wedding looming and her family playing matchmaker, her love and personal life are thrown into chaos. The film features out actor Luke Fetherston as Pia’s confidant, Jay, who is gay. 2.) The team behind Drag Race is creating a documentary that celebrates the life and legacy of the late James Lee Williams, otherwise known as British drag icon The Vivienne. With the blessing of Williams’ family and friends, Dear Viv features archival footage and intimate interviews with loved ones and fellow Drag Race stars Baga Chipz, Michael Marouli and Danny Beard. The doc is set for release later this year on WOW Presents Plus!

3.) Luke Evans joined the action thriller Bear Country alongside Russell Crowe, Aaron Paul and Daniel Zovatto. The film follows Manco Kapak, whose dreams of selling his club and riding off into the sunset with his girlfriend are shattered when a masked gunman robs him. Evans plays Joe Carver, an undercover federal agent posing as a potential buyer for the club in hopes of infiltrating a cartel. Stay tuned for more information!

4.) What We Do in the Shadows breakout Harvey Guillén was cast in Street Smart, an upcoming drama from Catherine Hardwicke. The film offers a gripping look into the lives of a group of unhoused young adults in Venice, California, as they form unbreakable bonds and redefine what it means to be a family.

5.) Hulu debuted the first trailer for Mid-Century Modern. From the creators of Will & Grace, the multi-cam comedy follows three gay men of a certain age (Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer and Nathan Lee Graham) who decide to embrace their golden years together in sun-soaked Palm Springs. 6.) Peacock’s hit series Poker Face added Taylor Schilling to its second season lineup, reuniting with Orange Is the New Black costars Natasha Lyonne and Adrienna C. Moore! The growing list of guest stars also includes Cynthia Erivo, Sherry Cola, Patti Harrison and Alia Shawkat. In the season, human lie detector Charlie Cale (Lyonne) is on the run in her 1969 Plymouth Barracuda, tackling minor league baseball, big box retail, funeral homes, alligators farms and a grade school talent show.

7.) In one of Netflix’s quickest renewals of a new series, the streamer picked up Running Point for a sophomore season! The basketball comedy includes Drew Tarver as Sandy Gordon, the chief financial officer of the Los Angeles Waves who is keeping his boyfriend Charlie (Scott Evans) a secret from the rest of his family. 8.) In more renewal news, Paramount+ secured Criminal Minds: Evolution for a fourth season, featuring Aisha Tyler as queer character Dr. Tara Lewis. Season three picks up six months after prisoners attacked the notorious Sicarius Killer. Don’t miss the season three premiere on May 8 with new episodes dropping Thursdays!

9.) Newlywed comedian and writer Robby Hoffman joined the upcoming fourth season of Hacks in a guest starring role! The new season follows the tug-of-war between Deborah and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) as they get their late night show off the ground, while making history doing it. Returning LGBTQ stars include Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkinds, Mark Indelicato, Poppy Liu, Johnny Sibiliy, Dan Bucatinky. In other casting news, Neil Patrick Harris was cast in the Showtime original series Dexter: Resurrection. The Dexter: New Blood followup centers on the story of anti-hero avenging serial killer Dexter Morgan. Harris plays Lowell, though no other details about the character have been revealed. 10.) Mother Monster is back and better than ever in her new album Mayhem; don’t miss Gaga as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend! In more music news, queer-fronted indie pop sensation Sub-Radio released their single “Nothing’s Broken,” off their forthcoming album. Additionally, non-profit Gender Amplified—who’s reshaping the future of music production by uplifting the next generation of women and gender-expansive music producers—shared their new collaborative EP In Bloom, alongside the song “Trick Mirror” ft. CARO♡ & Dance Arts Center! Irresistible pop powerhouse Molly Grace also dropped the lead single “Mad At Her Forever,” off her forthcoming debut album, and queer social justice singer-songwriter Heather Mae released the double-album WHAT THEY HID FROM ME and Kiss and Tell, alongside the music video for single “What I Know Now.” In other news, Ty Sunderland remixed Vienna Vienna’s queer anthem “God Save the Queens.” Last but certainly not least, Rebecca Black dropped her sophomore album SALVATION; check out the music video for the title track below!
