1) Northbound, an upcoming road trip comedy featuring lesbian actress and model Julia Fox and gay actor Walter Borden, has wrapped production. The film follows an octogenarian who recruits his grandson to help him escape a nursing home. Along the journey, they pick up a mysterious woman, played by Fox. There is love, there are bullets, there are secrets, and there is redemption. Stay tuned for more updates on Northbound! Bisexual actor Alan Cumming has signed on to co-star in the new indie comedy Lunch Hour from Winter State Production. The film follows a married man who loves soup as he meets a woman who also loves soup, as they embark upon a whirlwind and messy affair. Stay tuned for more updates on Lunch Hour! Finally, Elliot Page stars in Close to You, which released in theaters on August 16. Page stars as a trans man who returns home for the first time in years, and his relationship with his family, and old romance, and himself. Go see Close to You in theaters now!

2) FX has released a new teaser for Ryan Murphy’s new horror drama series Grotesquerie, starring out actresses Neicy Nash-Betts and Micaela Diamond! In the show, Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) investigates heinous crimes that have unsettled her small community. With no leads, Tryon accepts the help of Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun and journalist who believes in humanity’s capacity for good. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that seems to be raising more questions than answers. Catch Grotesquerie on FX at 10pm ET on September 25 or stream the following day on Hulu!
3) Out actor, writer, and director Clea DuVall is set to write and direct a series adaptation of the Anna Dorn book Perfume & Pain. The book follows Astrid Dahl, a reckless sapphic writer on the verge of a big break who has been embroiled in a recent scandal. In the midst of this, she turns to “sexy distractions,” including grad student Ivy, and her neighbor Penelope. Stay tuned for more updates on this adaptation of Perfume & Pain!

4) Out artists and actors Billy Porter, Michaela Jae, and Mykal Kilgore have all been added to Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis’ upcoming star-studded concept album The Warriors. The album is set to release on October 18 through Atlantic Records. Stay tuned for more updates on The Warriors!

5) Musician Laura Jane Grace and her partner Paris Campbell Grace’s new project, the Mississippi Medicals, released a music video this week for their cover of the Sidekick’s “Baby, Baby,” which will appear on Red Scare Industries 20th anniversary compilation album 20 Years of Dancing and Scheming. The video also includes a nod to Paris, who appears in the black and white video with Laura. The Mississippi Medicals have an EP on the way, so stay tuned for more news!
6) Canada’s Drag Race season one winner Queen Priyanka’s debut album, Devastatia, is out today! The album features the lead single “Gucciyanka” which features Queen Priyanka’s fellow season one contestant and current Canada vs. the World contestant Lemon. Bisexual alternative pop-rock artist Mothica’s new album Kissing Death is also out today! The lead single off the project, “Doomed,” explored Mothica’s experience with abuse at the hands of a pastor in Oklahoma. The visual album has a music video accompanying each track, telling the story of Mothica and her relationship with “Death.”
7) Indie pop band Valley’s new single “Let It Rain” is out today in advance of their album Water the Flowers, Pray For A Garden. The music video for queer artist Gregory Dillon’s new single “Catatonic” is out now, watch the video here! Bisexual singer-songwriter Abigail Barlow released a new acoustic version of her single “Please Me” today, and sapphic alt-pop artist Zolita’s single “Hypocrite” was released as well. Queer Korean-American artist St. Lenox announced his fifth album, Ten Modern American Work Songs, and released the single “Rudy” and its accompanying video today.
8) Heartstopper: The Official Netflix Podcast was announced this week, and will feature interviews with the cast and details on what to expect in season three. The podcast is hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK alum and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. the World champion Tia Kofi. The first episode will be released on September 2nd, and then on Mondays throughout September. The third season of Heartstopper is set to release on Netflix on October 3rd. 9) The Television Academy will award gay writer, director, and producer Greg Berlanti with the 2024 Governor’s Award at the 76th Emmys for his work in depicting underrepresented communities in his work. Berlanti began his career as a staff writer on Dawson’s Creek, where he helped depict the first “passionate” kiss between two men on a U.S. television network. He became executive producer and showrunner after just one season, and throughout his career has created, written, and executive produced 45 shows. Many of these shows include prominent LGBTQ characters, including Riverdale, You, Doom Patrol, All American, Black Lightning, Dead Boy Detectives, and more. He has also produced on a number of LGBTQ-inclusive films, including Red, White & Royal Blue and My Policeman. The 76th Emmys will air on ABC on Sunday, September 15 from 8-11pm EST, and stream the next day on Hulu.
