1.) Demi Lovato’s directorial debut Child Star premiered on Hulu this week! The documentary pulls back the curtain on life in Hollywood for child actors, exploring the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most-well known stars. Co-directed by Nicola Marsh, the film features interviews with out stars Jojo Siwa, Drew Berrymore, Raven-Symoné, Alyson Stoner and more. 2.) Atomic Focus Entertainment debuted the trailer for Banned Together, directed by out educator and filmmaker Kate Way, along with director Tom Wiggin, and producers Allyson Rice and Jenn Wiggin! Following three visionary teens through their senior year of high school, the documentary centers on two of the most controversial issues in America today: book bans and curriculum censorship in public schools. The doc also features interviews with best-selling authors, policymakers and experts, including out author Juno Dawson. 3.) Lilly Wachowski is co-producing an animated adaptation of trans author Andrew Joseph White’s dystopian debut novel “Hell Followed With Us.” The story follows Benji, a 16-year-old trans boy who is on the run from the cult that raised him and decimated the world’s population. Infected with a bioweapon that is slowly turning him into a monster, Benji teams up with other LGBTQ teens for survival. Stay tuned for more information!

4.) The highly anticipated trailer for Heartstopper season three has arrived! Set to Griff’s “Vertigo,” the Netflix trailer sees Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) take things to the next level as they face their relationship’s biggest challenge yet, while Elle and Tao explore physical intimacy. Based on the key events of the fourth graphic novel by genderfluid and asexual author Alice Oseman, the upcoming season delves into themes of mental health, sex, university, ambitions, and more. 5.) ABC unveiled the official trailer for Ryan Murphy’s new procedural drama Doctor Odyssey! The series follows Max, a doctor managing medical crises onboard a luxury cruise ship alongside a small but mighty medical team. 6.) Netflix’s Emmy-winning series Black Mirror set its season seven cast, featuring queer and nonbinary actor Emma Corrin! The satirical anthology will return in 2025 with six new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister, which starred out actress Michaela Coel in the original season four episode. In more casting news, Saturday Night Live announced its upcoming slate of hosts and musical guests, including Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan! On October 19, Eilish will make her fourth SNL appearance with Michael Keaton as the host, and on November 2 Roan will take the stage for the very first time alongside John Mulaney.

7.) Netflix’s upcoming supernatural mystery The Boroughs added out actors Jena Malone and Alice Kremelberg to its ensemble, joining previously announced star Denis O’Hare! The show is set in a seemingly picturesque retirement community where a group of unlikely heroes band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the only thing they don’t have… time. In the series, Malone plays Claire, Kremelberg plays Anneliese and O’Hare plays Wally.

8.) Queer pop rock duo senses released their latest single “every little thing!” In more music news, pop singer-songwriter Slayyyter shared her new song “No Comma” and queer indie electro-pop collective Love Bash dropped their debut music video “Nights Crawling;” check out the video! Additionally, LA-based black electro meets darkwave duo Sleek Teeth released the single “Operating.” Finally, queer alternative rock artist Vienna Vienna unveiled a glimmer rock debut single “Vienna (Everything’s Fine)”—watch the official music video below!
9.) The hit-Broadway comedy Oh, Mary! is extending its record-breaking run through Jan 19, 2025! Written by an starring nonbinary multihyphenate Cole Escola, the play’s all-star cast includes out actors Conrad Ricamora as Mary Todd Lincoln’s husband and James Scully as Mary’s teacher. 10.) The cult hit-series Wynonna Earp is coming to Audible!
