The most dysfunctional family in the Bible-Belt has been bringing laughs to millions of viewers on The Righteous Gemstones since 2019. Last night, the Max series came to a close with a bittersweet finale.
The series follows the Gemstones, a world-famous family of televangelists living in South Carolina. With endless twists and turns, the satirical comedy is a commentary on the culture of megachurches in the United States and the corruption that exists within them.
In last night’s episode, fan favorites Kelvin Gemstone, played by Adam DeVine, and Keefe Chambers, played by Tony Cavelero decided they were finally ready to tie the knot!
Fans have been rooting for this couple since the start of the show and were thrilled when they shared their first kiss in season 3. The two struggled with their feelings for each other throughout the series as their identities were so deeply ingrained in the conservative church they are a part of.
At the beginning of the episode, viewers find Kelvin and Keefe in their incredibly elaborate treehouse they had been building throughout the season. “This is incredible! Keefe, I’m so happy we actually finished my treehouse,” Kelvin exclaims. “I’ve been working real hard,” Keefe responds.

They step outside and hear a crack of thunder, “I hate to say it, but we should probably head back home. It looks like a nasty storm’s a-brewin… The devil’s piss causes you terror,” Keefe says.
“Not anymore it doesn’t… A lot of things don’t scare me anymore Keefe. Spiders in the toilet, that old lady puppet from Mr. Rodgers, the dog from the beans commercial.” He pauses, “Even marriage.”
Then, he pops the question! “Keefe Chambers, will you marry me?” And he says yes!

After a near death experience for Kelvin and his siblings, the episode closes with a larger than life wedding ceremony with all of their friends and family. The wedding was even officiated by Kelvin’s father, Pastor Eli Gemstone. “Sad fact of life is, we lose people. But if we do it right, we also find new ones along the way; new loves. Faithful companions that we call family, that’s what marriage is.” Eli said.

Instead of traditional vows, the couple exchanged “their own unique expressions of love,” which entailed them spitting into their hands and did a secret handshake, before putting their high-tech rings on and sealing their union with a kiss. “I now pronounce you married men!” Eli exclaims.
They then danced the night away with all of their loved ones.
