List of award recipients: 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, Waldorf Astoria New York, May 9, 2015
NEW YORK, NY – GLAAD Media Award recipients were announced in 15 of this year's 31 media categories at the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, presented by Delta Air Lines, Hilton, Ketel One Vodka, and Wells Fargo at the Waldorf Astoria New York on Saturday night.
A complete press release with additional quotes from award recipients will be posted by 2 p.m. ET and photos from the event by 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at glaad.org/mediaawards. Highlights are available now at twitter.com/glaad.
Following is a complete list of GLAAD Media Awards presented on stage, and the individuals that accepted the awards (accepters tentative):
- Vito Russo Award: Thomas Roberts (presented by Lynda Carter)
- Excellence in Media Award: Kelly Ripa (presented by Anderson Cooper)
- Outstanding Talk Show Episode: "Pepe Julian Onziema" Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) [accepted by: Ugandan transgender activist Pepe Julian Onziema who accepted on behalf of the show]
- Outstanding TV Journalism Segment: "Fired for Being Gay?" MSNBC Live (MSNBC) [accepted by: MSNBC reporter Craig Melvin, and by Latta, S.C. Police Chief Crystal Moore]
- Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage: Sports Illustrated [accepted by: Jason Collins, Michael Sam, and Sports Illustrated Managing Editor Chris Stone]

GLAAD previously announced that it was acknowledging BioWare's hit video game Dragon Age: Inquisition and the song "Era Diferente" by the legendary Mexican band Los Tigres del Norte with Special Recognition Awards.
