Los Angeles, CA – Thursday, March 7, 2024 – GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced today that LGBTQ allies Kate Hudson and Chlöe will perform at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on March 14. For the fourth consecutive year, Hulu will return as the event’s official streaming destination, furthering its commitment to showcasing LGBTQ stories and storytellers year-round. A special presentation of the Los Angeles ceremony will premiere exclusively on the platform beginning March 29.
Actress, entrepreneur and singer-songwriter, Kate Hudson, will give a special live performance of her new single, “Talk About Love,” at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. Watch the music video for “Talk About Love” which debuted earlier this week.
“The LGBTQ community has supported and stood by me for as long as I’ve been a performer. It is a privilege to share another facet of my artistry with my nearest and dearest fans, and to expand on my lifelong journey of being an ally,” said Hudson. “Music brings people together and I can’t wait to spread the love and joy with queer people andGLAAD this year.”
Actress and five-time Grammy-nominated recording artist, Chlöe, will perform her newly released song, “FYS,” live for the first time at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, marking her first music release of 2024 and first live performance of the song.
“I am honored to perform my new track ‘FYS’ for the first time at this year’s GLAAD Media Awards,” Chlöe said. “It is so important to me to be an ally and advocate for an organization that for decades has stood for unity, inclusiveness and HumanRights. I do believe that in any community, you have to see yourself in stories and media and I am thrilled to be here to celebrate all the contributions that the LGBTQ community has made in this space. And to be here to celebrate true icons Oprah Winfrey & Niecy Nash-Betts just makes this even that more special!”

As previously announced, global media leader Oprah Winfrey will receive the Vanguard Award for her decades long commitment to allyship and Emmy Award®-winning actress and producer Niecy Nash-Betts will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.During the Los Angeles ceremony, GLAAD will also announce award recipients for LGBTQ representation in categories that span film, TV, news, andSpanish-language media. Earlier this year, GLAAD announced over 300 nominees.
Kate Hudson is a Golden Globe Award winner and Academy Award-nominated actress, singer, producer, entrepreneur, and bestselling author. Best known for her roles in “Almost Famous,” “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” and “Bride Wars,” which she also produced, Hudson is also a devout activist and humanitarian. Her many charitable affiliations include The Hawn Foundation’s MindUP program, the United Nations World Food Programme, Baby2Baby, and Operation Smile. Hudson is also an outspoken ally and advocate for the LGBTQ community. In 2013, Hudson co-founded Fabletics, a global lifestyle brand centered on inclusivity and community. In 2016, Hudson was honored at the GLSENRespect Awards with the Inspiration Award “for her long standing advocacy work to benefit youth.” In her speech, she commends the LGBTQ community for their“courage and bravery” and for showing kids how to be “their authentic selves.”She also spoke about the hard work she and her mother Goldie Hawn do with MindUp, an organization working to help youth with their mental health. Other notable projects Hudson starred in include “Deepwater Horizon,” “Marshall,” “Truth Be Told, “Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon,” and “Music,” which she was nominated for a Golden Globe for. She starred most recently in the global smash hit, “Glass Onion: A Knives OutMystery,” streaming on Netflix. Hudson also guest starred on the 4th season of the GLAAD Media Award winning series “Glee” from 2012 to 2013. She and her brother, Oliver Hudson, host the podcast, “Sibling Revelry,” recently launching their 4th season in iHeartPodcasts. Kate recently released her debut single, “Talk About Love,” with an album due this year.
Chlöe Bailey, known mononymously as Chlöe, rose to fame as a member of the critically acclaimed musical duo Chloe x Halle. In 2021, she stepped into the spotlight with her hit solo single, “Have Mercy,” which débuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and which she performed at the MTV Video Music Awards. Chlöe released her debut album In Pieces on March 31, 2023. Over three years in the making, the fan-demanded project showcases songs written, arranged and executive produced by Chlöe. The 14-track album features collaborations from Missy Elliott, Future and Chris Brown. As an actor, she appeared in the film “Jane” and most recently “Swarm”and “Praise This.” Chloe x Halle performed at the 31st Annual GLAAD MediaAwards alongside “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, Mayhem Miller and Naomi Smalls.

Nominees for the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards reflect work published, released, or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2023. This year, GLAAD announced 310 nominees across 33 categories. The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies, which fund GLAAD’s work to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance and visibility in media, will be held this year in Los Angeles onThursday, March 14, 2024 and in New York City on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis serves as Executive Producer of the 35th GLAAD Media Awards, alongside GLAAD’s Rich Ferraro and Anthony Allen Ramos. GLAAD’s Tony Morrison will serve as Supervising Producer and Jose Useche will serve as Producer. The ceremonies will be produced in partnership with STAMP Event Co.
