GLAAD STATEMENT ON PASSING OF CECILE RICHARDS

Today GLAAD is responding to the news of the passing of Cecile Richards, former President of Planned Parenthood.

Statement from Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD:

“We are heartbroken and devastated to hear the news that Cecile Richards has passed. Cecile was a one-of-a-kind fearless leader in the fight for abortion rights. For Cecile, the only kind of feminism was intersectional feminism, and it’s now up to us all to honor her life by fighting for all marginalized people and healthcare access with the same unwavering bravery she upheld every day. As the longtime leader of Planned Parenthood, her vision for LGBTQ healthcare and advocacy was constant and inspiring.”
