GLAAD ANNOUNCES SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 36TH ANNUAL GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS TO REMAIN OPEN THROUGH NOVEMBER 22

DATES FOR THE 2024 GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS TO BE ANNOUNCED
New York, New York – Monday, October 28, 2024 – GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization announced the call for submissions for the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which will remain open now, through Friday, November 22. As diverse and intersectional LGBTQ representation across media continues to grow, the GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community in an ever-expanding and media landscape. Since its inception in 1990, the GLAAD Media Awards have grown to be the most visible annual LGBTQ awards show in the world, sending powerful messages of acceptance to audiences globally.

GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis serves as Executive Producer of the 36th GLAAD Media Awards, alongside GLAAD’s Rich Ferraro and Anthony Allen Ramos. GLAAD’s Tony Morrison will serve as Supervising Producer and Jose Useche will serve as Producer.
DATES AND CONSIDERATIONS
Submissions for the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards closes on Friday, November 22, 2024.
All materials must be submitted via GLAAD’s new official submissions portal by no later than 6pm P.T on Friday, November 22, 2024. All submitters will be required to submit via GLAAD’s official digital submission form on the GLAAD website.
The submission fee is $250, per entry.
Submissions received after November 22 are considered late and will incur a $150 fee, for a total late submission fee of $400, per entry, until Friday, December 20.
Submissions received after Friday, December 20 will not be accepted.
Submissions for projects that appear, air or debut between November 22 and December 30, please contact GLAAD at submissions@glaad.org directly for special considerations and instructions for your submission(s).
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, projects must have been published, released, or broadcast in the United States between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. Potential nominees may be submitted in both the English and Spanish-language media categories.

Nominees for the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be announced in early 2025.

Recognizes a blog, newsletter or news site, based on the quality of its overall coverage throughout the year. Outlet must be independent, with a majority of content from a single contributor. Outlet may consist of original content and/or aggregated content with original commentary, posted in chronological order. Receives Award: Award is given to the independent media outlet. Primary contributor(s) may accept. (Note: submission fees are waived in this category.)
