The glaadcast: GLAAD Launches Podcast Amplifying LGBTQ voices During Pride Month
New York, NY – GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, today announced the glaadcast, a podcast to celebrate Pride Month 2018. The glaadcast offers an entertaining and informative download of what is happening in the LGBTQ news and media world with exclusive interviews and analysis from experts.
Episodes during Pride Month will feature interviews with Alan Cumming (Instinct), Cameron Esposito (comedian), Peppermint (RuPaul’s Drag Race), and Ashley C. Ford (writer). The glaadcast also includes a news briefing from GLAAD’s Communications Director Sue Yacka-Bible and will be hosted by Adam Goldman, writer and director of the celebrated LGBTQ series Whatever this is. and The Outs.
“The signal-to-noise ratio in today’s news universe is high, and the glaadcast will ensure that listeners get a queer angle on the most important news stories of the day, from healthcare to religious exemptions to discriminatory legislation and executive orders,” said Sue Yacka-Bible.
Each episode will feature two segments, an interview and a news briefing.
The interview will spotlight LGBTQ changemakers speaking about the LGBTQ media landscape, how queer identity has impacted guests both professionally and personally, and their LGBTQ media diets. The news segment puts a LGBTQ lens on some of the most important news stories of the week from GLAAD’s Communications Director Sue Yacka-Bible, who brings over a decade of expertise addressing the social and political issues that impact LGBTQ people the most.
“The glaadcast will explore the queer zeitgeist and give podcast fans a fresh take on queer news and culture,” said Adam Goldman, glaadcast producer and host. “This podcast is made for LGBTQ people, by LGBTQ people and will give a platform to some of our most celebrated LGBTQ personalities during Pride Month.”
The glaadcast comes as part of GLAAD’s efforts to amplify diverse voices from within the LGBTQ community. Earlier this year, GLAAD launched amp, an online series featuring content and stories created by and for young changemakers to share experiences and amplify LGBTQ voices.
The glaadcast is available now on Apple Podcasts and Google Play.
