It’s a great day to be a queer music fan! Today, March 29th, LGBTQ artists FLETCHER, Doechii, and Nico Tortorella have all released brand new music and videos to start this weekend off right!
FLETCHER’s new album In Search Of The Antidote is only a week old and it’s already so beloved by her millions of monthly listeners. In addition to the album, today, FLETCHER premiered the official music video for her single “Pretending.” Watch the video here:
The unapologetically queer artist offers fans a refreshing and meaningful glimpse at her experiences in a sapphic relationship.
“I don’t know if it’s because I’m a Pisces, but I can meet a beautiful person in a coffee shop and suddenly start asking myself, ‘What would my life look like with you?’” FLETCHER explains the song in her own words in a statement. “‘Pretending’ is about having that person at the back of your mind who makes you keep wondering, ‘Is it going to be us that end up together one day?’”
FLETCHER, who was named Outstanding Music Artist at the 2023 GLAAD Media Awards, has been described by Rolling Stone “as one of pop’s most versatile stars. She can pen a heartbreak ballad or craft a raucous dance hit and have tens of thousands sing the words back at her.” While In Search Of The Antidote is only her second full length studio album, FLETCHER has secured her title as a lesbian icon.

Doechii, another 2023 GLAAD Media Award nominee, has just dropped what R&B legend SZA describes as “the craziest song I’ve heard all year.” In collaboration with JT, the highly anticipated single “Alter Ego” is out now! Watch the official music video here:
Doechii has been called an “Artist to Watch” by Rolling Stone, NPR, Vulture, Complex, Uproxx, Pigeons and Planes, and FADER, and has been recognized for her achievements in the industry with a nomination for Push Performance of the Year at the 2022 MTV VMAs and Best New Artist at the 2022 Soul Train Music Awards.

Last, but certainly not least, actor, activist, author, and most recently singer/songwriter Nico Tortorella has released his debut single “Grapefruit!” The song is a first look at his upcoming album titled Born. Watch the music video, directed by Nico’s brother Rocco Tortorella here:
In a 2023 interview with GLAAD’s Anthony Allen Ramos, Tortorella opened up about how his role as a musician on Apple TV+’s City on Fire opened his eyes to his passion for making music. “City on Fire allowed me the opportunity to be in a recording studio and experience the art of crafting a song from beginning to end,” said Tortorella. “It was the first time I’ve really spent time in a booth like that.”
Tortorella told Ramos, “I fell in love with the process wholeheartedly.” And now his dreams have become a reality. The series’ music supervisor Jonathan Leahy shared that, “Nico was determined to crush the vocal performances and [he] worked [his] ass off to get it right – the final recording is…incredible.”
In a statement, Tortorella shared that “It provided the catalyst for me to not only express myself artistically but also to embrace my truest essence. The studio became a sanctuary, where I could merge the worlds of character development and personal introspection, ultimately leading me to uncover a new facet of my creative identity.”
Days before the release of the album, Tortorella will also release his first children’s book, Olivette Is You, on April 23rd. Be on the lookout for Born, streaming April 26th.
