The sophomore season of Somebody Somewhere premieres tonight on HBO! In this season of the GLAAD Media Award-nominated comedy series, Sam (Bridget Everett) and Joel (out actor Jeff Hiller) move in together and settle into a comfortable routine. Joel decides that he wants a traditional married life and finds a new love interest, played by gay actor and comedian Tim Bagley. Trans drag king Murray Hill also reprises his role as Fed, a University soil scientist by day, and Master of Ceremonies in a flashy suit by night! Somebody Somewhere: Tonight 10:30pm on HBO.
Awkwafina is Nora from Queens debuts its third season this Wednesday on Comedy Central! Making her directorial debut, Awkwafina continues to play Nora, a fictionalized version of herself who maneuvers through the hardships of young adulthood with the support of her closest family members— her father Wally played by gay actor BD Wong, her cousin Edmund played by gay actor Bowen Yang, and grandmother played by Lori Tan Chinn. Nora is out to improve her circumstances and embarks on a magical trip overseas with Edmund; Wally and Brenda take big steps in their relationship; and Grandma discovers a new career. On Thursday, part two of the second season of Firefly Lane drops on Netflix. The season picks up as a tragic event brings best friends Tully Hart and Kate Mularkey back into each other’s lives. For Kate and Tully, no obstacle is too big when it comes to their lifelong friendship. But is there one mistake that could tear them apart forever? The series also features queer characters Sean (Jason Mckinnon), Kate’s sister, and Marah (Yael Yurman), Kate and Johnny’s daughter. Firefly Lane: Thursday on Netflix.
