GLAAD is working hard ensure our LGBTQ and Latinx communites are taking action between now and election day November. As part of GLAAD’s 100 Days of Action campaign, we’ll be shining a light on ways you can take action, sometimes with GLAAD and sometimes with allied organizations and media outlets.
The Spanish-language network Univision reminds us that before the election in November, we need to participate in the census. Check out these videos.
The “Cuenta Conmigo” campaign makes the connection between accurate population counts and the services and representation then accorded a particular area, such as hospitals. You can also fill out the census directly at univision.com/censo (in Spanish) and univision.com/census (in English).
Under-counting can mean under-representation politically too, which is why participating in the census is so important for both LGBTQ and Latinx people.
Beyond representing in the census, we need to make the LGBTQ and Latinx vote count. Take the pledge to vote at glaad.org/action, and sign up to learn how to help friends and family members register, request ballots and more.
