In honor of Spirit Day, Thursday, October 19th, Broadway’s hottest new show Here Lies Love threw the party of the century right in the theater!
As part of the recently announced People Power Disco Hour series of post-show DJ performances inside Club Millennium at the Broadway Theatre, DJ Griffin Maxwell Brooks spun a post-show set immediately following that evening’s 7PM performance of the groundbreaking new musical in celebration of Spirit Day and GLAAD’s mission to support LGBTQ youth. Audiences were encouraged to wear purple to celebrate #SpiritDay.
The People Power Disco Hour series kicked off on October 7th with Here Lies Love co-producer and NYC-born Filipina American DJ CherishTheLuv and continued Thursday, October 12 with multi-Grammy Award winner and Here Lies Love co-producer Apl.de.Ap of Black Eyed Peas.
At select performances throughout the show’s run, the entire audience at the Broadway Theater will continue the excitement with a 90-minute post-show dance party, right from their ticketed spots in the theater!

Here Lies Love is a groundbreaking new musical from David Byrne and Fatboy Slim that showcases the first all-Filipino cast to perform on Broadway. The show tells the true story of former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos and the woman who raised her, Estrella Cumpas. Variety described the show as “an experience the likes of which Broadway has rarely if ever seen.”
