Vice President of the GLAAD Media Institute Nick Adams and GLAAD’s Senior Director of Communications Tony Morrison have landed on 2024’s Out100, an annual list that recognizes the most impactful and influential LGBTQ people of the year.
Adams has been with GLAAD since 1998 and has been fighting for transgender equality since, creating the transgender section of GLAAD’s Media Reference Guide as well as working on Caitlyn Jenner’s coming-out story in 2015. Since being with GLAAD, Adams has used his expertise to elevate industry standards for respectful and accurate reporting when it comes to LGBTQ people.
Morrison has been at the forefront when it comes to LGBTQ equality and rights in his work with GLAAD including leading the on-the-ground response to the Club Q Shooting in Colorado Springs, and the death of nonbinary Oklahoma teen Nex Benedict. In addition to his work with GLAAD, Morrison’s digital series Truth Be Told spotlights folks living with HIV and others in the community who are thriving. Prior to GLAAD, Morrison worked at Good Morning America where he disclosed his HIV-positive status in a 2021 essay.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Out100 list and Adams was recognized in the “Educators” category while Morrison was recognized in the “Groundbreakers” category. The pair are in good company on a list that includes names such as Trixie Mattel, Ts Madison, the 2024 Olympians, Nymphia Wind, Rachel Maddow, Jodie Foster, Zaya Wade, Liz Bloom, Natalie Wynn, Katy O’Brien, as well as this year’s cover model and Wicked star Cynthia Erivo. The cast of Wicked was also included on the list.
The Out 100 list hits newsstands on October 29, but you can read the full Out100 honoree list here.
