1.) The forthcoming Colson Baker (otherwise known as Machine Gun Kelly) music saga feature Taurus has added out actresses Maddie Hasson, Ruby Rose and Megan Fox to it’s star-studded cast. Taurus tells the story of a rising but troubled musician (Baker) as he spends his days and nights searching endlessly for the inspiration to record one last song. His sister-like assistant (Hasson) wants to save him, his collaborators (Scoot Mcnairy, Lil Meech and Lil TJay) want him in the studio, while his dealer (Rose) and his ex (Megan Fox) push him deeper into a void.
2) HBO Max has released the official trailer for the fifth season of Search Party. Directed by out screenwriter and producer Charles Rogers, Search Party stars out actors John Early, Jeffery Self, Alia Shawkat, Cole Escola, Grace Kuhlenschidt, Joe Castle Baker, Larry Owens and Michelle Badillo. In the season, Dory (Shawkat) takes on a new chapter of life to spread a revolution of love, teaming with tech billionaire Tunnel Quinn (Jeff Goldblum) and roping along her ever-loyal friends. 3) BBC America has released a teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of Killing Eve. In season four, Eve (Sandra Oh), Villanelle (Jodie Comer), and Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) are in very different places. Following Eve and Villanelle’s exchange on the bridge, the former is on a revenge mission, while the latter has found a brand-new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a “monster”. Killing Eve will premiere the first two episodes of it’s final season on Feburary 27 at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes will also debut weekly on AMC beginning February 28 at 9 p.m. ET, and the season will stream one week early on AMC+, beginning February 20, 2022. 4) Hulu has released the first trailer for the How I Met Your Mother spin-off How I Met Your Father. In the series, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends— including queer character Ellen (out actress, comedian and scriptwriter Tien Tran)— are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options. 5) The part survival epic, part psychological horror and part coming-of-age drama Yellowjackets has been renewed for a second season by Showtime. Yellowjackets tells the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash. The sereis chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team of savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to pieve back together nearly 25 years later. Lesbian actress, singer-songwriter, and podcaster Jasmin Savoy Brown portrays the teenage queer character Taissa and non-binary actor, comic, and playwright Liv Hewson portrays the teenage queer character Van. In other Jasmin Savoy Brown and Liv Hewson news, Netflix has announced the launch of The Gay Agenda podcast. On the show, the Yellowjackets co-stars will interview queer trailblazers in the community and explore the wonderful, funny (and sometimes ridiculous) parts of the LGBTQ experience. 6) To mark the one year anniversary of the launch of Shondaland’s Bridgerton, Neflix has released the premiere date for season two: March 25, 2022. Season two of Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest Bridgerton son played by out actor Jonathan Bailey, as he sets out to find a suitable wife. Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India. Also returning to the season two cast is lesbian actress and singer Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte.
7) HBO has released the first poster for Euphoria season two— starring trangender actress, model and LGBTQ rights activist Hunter Schafer, queer actress and model Barbie Ferreira, gay actor, writer and director Colman Domingo, and non-binary actors Quintessa Swindell and Bobbi Salvör Menuez. Euphoria follows Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Schafer) as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, love and friendship in their small town. The season one finale, which saw Rue and Jules part ways, was followed by two special episodes centering each of the two. 8) Freeform has released the first trailer for the comedy series Single Drunk Female, created by Simone Finch, and executive produced by Finch, Jenni Konner, Phill Traill and out Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland, who also directed the pilot. After a public flame-out at a New York media company, 20-something alcoholic Samantha Fink is forced to seize the only chance she has to sober up and avoid jail time: move back in with her overbearing mother, Carol. Out actress Rebecca Henderson will portray Olivia, a brilliant melancholic lesbian who works as one of the greeters at AA. Single Drunk Female premieres with back-to-back episodes January 20 on Freeform and will be available to stream January 21 on Hulu. Watch the trailer below!
9) Netflix has realeased posted for The Umbrella Academy season three, which will air in 2022. The series based on the comics of Gerard Way revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death and the threat of an imminent apocalypse. In season three, transgender actor and producer Elliot Page will return to play queer character Vanya Hargreeves and Robert Sheehan will return to play the non-binary, pansexual character Klaus Hargreeves. 10) The hit anthology series Why Women Kill has been renewed for a third season by Paramount+. Created by out writer and producer Marc Cherry, Why Women Kill is set in multiple time periods, depicting the events leading to deaths caused by women. Set in 1949, season two explored what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society, and the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong. Like season two, the third season will feature a different set of characters.

11) We’re Here, featuring out stars D.J Pierce (Shangela), Caldwell Tidicue (Bob the Drag Queen), and David Huggard (Eureka O’Hara), has been renewed for a third season by HBO. The series follows the RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni trio as they travel across the United States speading love and connection through the art of drag. 12) Out singer, songwriter, and multi-dimensional artist Elliot Lee has released a new single “Pink (Freak Remix)”, featuring out singer, songwriter, and rapper GIRLI. 13) The 2022 Oscars shortlists in 10 award categories have been announced. Flee, nominated in the “International Feature Film (Denmark)” and “Documentary Feature” categories, chronicles the life and secrets of a queer Afghan refugee on the verge of marriage to his long-term boyfriend. The “Documentary Short Subject” category includes Coded: The Hidden Love of J.C. Leyendecker, which tells the hidden story behind the artists sexuality and coded imagery that laid the foundation for queer representation in media today. Tick, Tick… Boom!, featuring out In the Heights star Robin de Jesús, transgender POSE star MJ Rodriguez, and queer Love, Simon star Alexandra Shipp, has been nominated in the “Sound” category. Among the nominees in the “Music (Original Score)” category is Spencer, staring out actress and filmmaker Kristen Stewart. Lastly, Marvel’s Eternals, which features the first LGBTQ superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been nominated in the “Visual Effects” category.
