1) A trailer has dropped for Sundance award winner Framing Agnes from out trans director Chase Joynt. The Sundance award-winning documentary follows on Agnes, a young trans woman who entered a study about sex disorders at UCLA in the 1950s to get gender-affirming care, by any means necessary. Her story was long considered to be one of a kind until other patients fileswere found in 2017. Out trans actors Angelica Ross, Jen Richards, Zackary Drucker, Silas Howard, Max Wolf Valerio and Stephen Ira will be featured in the film.
2) Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is being adapted into a Netflix feature film. The book, follows Hollywood legend Evelyn Hugo, recounting her life story to unknown reporter Monique Grant. Evelyn’s story covers decades of Hollywood and her tumoltuous love life, slowly revealing that the love of her life was a woman. The book has spent 54 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller Paperback list, four years after publishing. Little Fires Everywhere director Liz Tigelaar will direct the upcoming film adaptation.
3) The US theatrical release of documentary Jonathan Agassi Saved My Life premieres in New York on May 13. Jonathan Agassi was one of the most successful gay porn stars in the world and revolutionized the industry. Filmed over eight years, the documentary follows Agassi from his native Tel Aviv to Berlin documenting his ascent to the top of the gay porn industry, as well as his struggles with drug addition and depression. Watch the trailer below! Additionally, out actors Nik Dodani and Brandon Flynn have joined the ensemble cast of horror comedy The Parenting, from out director Craig Johnson for HBO Max. The film centers on a young gay couple, Rohan and Josh (Dodani and Flynn), invite their parents to meet each otherat a weekend away in country, but are horrified to find out it is haunted by a 400-year-old poltergeist.
4) Drag Race stars Ginger Minj, Kornbread Jeté, and Kahmora Hall are all set to appear in Hocus Pocus 2, the forthcoming Disney+ sequel. The drag queens will play drag versions of the the central Sanderson sisters (reprised by original stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimi, and Sarah Jessica Parker) when the real withces show up at the drag show. Hocus Pocus 2 is coming to Disney+ this fall.
5) MGM has picked up worldwide distribution rights for out director Luca Guadagnino’s first US-set feature film, Bones and All. Based on the novel of the same name, the film is a story of first love between a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society and an intense and disenfranchised drifter, as they team up to take a long trip across America in the Reagan era, but it’s unclear if their love can survive their past.

6) Out actor Harvey Guillén will voice Nightwing in season three of animated series Harley Quinn. The adult-oriented comedy centers on the escapades of the titular Harley (Kaley Cuoco) and her partner-in-crime Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), watching as they rise to power in Gotham, and ultimately, fall in love. Additionally, Jane Fonda and out actress Lily Tomlin will return April 29 for the final season of Grace and Frankie to reprise their roles as a pair of divorcées whose husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston as Robert and Sol) left them to marry each other.
7) Out bisexual comedian and actress Margaret Cho has joined the cast for season two of Hacks. The GLAAD Media Award-nominated series focuses on the dark mentorship between legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her younger writer Ava (out actor Hannah Einbinder), who is bisexual, and how their releationshio evolves. Additionally, out pansexual actress Mae Whitman will star in upcoming romantic comedy series Up Here. Set in 1999 in NYC, the show follows couple, Lindsay (Whitman) and Miguel, as they fall in love and they are their own obstacles to happiness through the obsessions, fears and fantasies that lives inside their heads.

8) A trailer has dropped for season two of The Flight Attendant, which will premiere on April 21. In Season 2, Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco) returns with a fresh start in Los Angeles. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue. Out actor T. R. Knight plays gay character Davey Bowden, Cassie’s older brother who “gently” disagrees with her life choices and is constantly frustrated that his sister remembers their childhood very differently. Out actors Mae Martin and Margaret Cho will also join the cast for season two.

9) Submarine drama Vigil has been renewed for a second season. The first season saw Suranne Jones take on the role of DCI Amy Silva, who was sent on board the titular nuclear-powered vessel to investigate a suspicious death on board. The previous season featured a queer relationship between Amy and Kirsten (Rose Leslie). Additionally, And Just Like That… has been renewed for a second season, and returning cast members including out actors Cynthia Nixon, Sara Ramírez (who plays non-binary podcast host and stand-up comic Che Diaz), and Mario Cantone. In other TV news, The CW has renewed The Flash, Kung Fu, All American, Nancy Drew, and Riverdale for additional seasons.
