1) A trailer has been released for The Velvet Underground, a documentary about the titular infamous band from out filmmaker Todd Haynes. The film shows The Velvet Underground in collaboration with queer artist Andy Warhol and their impact on the artistic community. The film will be in theaters and streaming on Apple TV+ on October 15; watch the trailer below.
2) Out actor Kiersey Clemons has been cast in a new film Somebody That I Used to Know, from director Dave Franco. The film stars Alison Brie, who co-wrote it as well, as a woman who goes back to her hometown, spend a night reminiscing with her ex-boyfriend (Jay Ellis) and also meets Cassidy (Clemons), who reminds her of a younger version of herself. In more casting news, Hunter Schafer, the trans actress known for Euphoria, had been cast in horror film Cuckoo, alongside John Malkovich, Gemma Chan, and Sofia Boutella. The film will be written and directed by Tilman Singer.

3) The CW has ordered Tom Swift, a spinoff of their series Nancy Drew. Tom Swift “follows the serialized adventures of its titular Black, gay, billionaire inventor (Richards) who is thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy and unexplained phenomena after the shocking disappearance of his father.” The show will star Tian Richards as Swift.

4) Out actor Ryan O’Connell has been cast in Peacock’s upcoming reboot of Queer as Folk from out creator Stephen Dunn. He will also be writer and co-executive producer of the series. He joins actors Fin Argus, Candace Grace, Johnny Sibilly, and Devin Way and writer Jaclyn Moore also joins the series as an executive producer.

5) A new trailer has been released for season three of Doom Patrol, the show’s first season to debut on HBO Max. The show stars out actor Matt Bomer as superhero Larry Trainor and will premiere its third season on September 23.
6) Apple TV+ has announced that the third season of Dickinson will be its last. The show follows the young life of acclaimed queer poet Emily Dickinson including her romance with her brother’s wife Sue. The third season will include out actor Billy Eichner as Walt Whitman and will premiere on November 5; watch a teaser below.
7) Out actor Harvey Guillén will be hosting an after show of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows after each episode of this season. Guillén plays the character of Guillermo on the show and will be interviewing other cast and crew members. After the Shadows will be released on the show’s socials after each episode of the show.

8) Lady Gaga released a remix album of Chromatica today. The new version, Dawn of Chromatica, features queer artists including Rina Sawayama, Pabllo Vittar, and Arca. Listen to the album here! 9) Lil Nas X has announced the tracklist for his upcoming album Montero. The album includes features by Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, and Jack Harlow. 10) Against Me! Frontwoman Laura Jane Grace released her new audio project, Black Me Out, on Audible yesterday. The project is an audio only memoir about her life, music, and identity as a trans woman. Learn more and listen to Black Me Out here!
