1.) Ghostface is loose on the streets of New York City in Scream VI, in theaters today! The latest installment of the horror franchise continues to build upon the new group of survivors from Scream V, including the queer character Mindy Meeks-Martin, played by lesbian actress Jasmin Savoy Brown. Who will survive the murderous events of the film, and who is behind the mask this time? There’s only one way to find out. Go see Scream VI, out in theaters now!
2.) Searchlight Pictures has set a July 14 release date for Theater Camp, a musical comedy that premiered at Sundance earlier this year. Theater Camp picks up after the founder of an upstate New York theater camp falls into a coma, and follows the eccentric staff as they try to keep the camp afloat. The film was co-written by husbands Noah Galvin and Ben Platt, and the pair co-star in the film as well. Don’t miss Theater Camp this summer!

3.) Every Body, an intersex documentary, will get a Focus Features release this June! The doc looks into the lives of actor and screenwriter River Gallo, political consultant Alicia Roth Weigel, and Ph.D. student Sean Saifa Wall. Their stories track from childhood to adulthood, and how their intersex identity has affected their lives. Stay tuned for more updates on Every Body!

4.) Out actor Nico Greetham and Piper Curda, who is on the asexual spectrum, were cast in upcoming romantic dramedy Something Casual. The film follows a struggling artist and professional dancer as they navigate Los Angeles dating/hookup culture, and as a series of misunderstandings create discord in these star-crossed lovers’ lives. 5.) Another trailer for season two of the Showtime hit show Yellowjackets was released this week! The show follows a women’s soccer team that survive a plane crash in 1996 and their struggles to stay alive in the woods, as well as their present day lives after their 19 month stint in the wilderness. The show also features a number of queer characters, including Taissa, Ben, and Van. Don’t miss season two of Yellowjackets, premiering on Showtime on March 24!
6.) Gay actor Tituss Burgess has been cast in an upcoming NBC pilot! The show was previously titled Murder by the Book, and follows a book reviewer who becomes an unlikely detective in a small seaside town. Burgess will play the main character’s younger brother. 7.) Queer musician and icon Miley Cyrus’ new album Endless Summer Vacation is out now! This marks Cyrus’ 8th studio album, and includes the hit single “Flowers.” Queer musician Lucy Dacus released the music video for her song “Night Shift” this week. Boston-based queer duo Mediocre’s new single “Pop Song Baby” is out now, as is queer and gender-fluid artist Cookiee Kawaii’s single “Let Me Rock.”
8.) Gay performer Billy Porter announced a five week tour for his upcoming album Black Mona Lisa this week! The show will feature his hits “Love Is on the Way” and “Love Yourself,” some Broadway, some Pose references, and songs from the upcoming album. Tickets are on sale tomorrow, so don’t wait!
9.) iHeartMedia announced a podcast network for LGBTQ+ voices this week called Outspoken. Stars will include queer child star JoJo Siwa, lesbian actress Rosie O’Donnell, trans woman Laverne Cox, gay actor and comedian Bowen Yang, queer actress Raven–Symone, gay pop-star Lance Bass, and more!
10.) Queer projects and nominees took home a number of awards at this year’s Independent Film Spirit Awards, one of the final shows before the Oscars this Sunday. Queer-inclusive film Everything Everywhere All At Once won seven awards, including “Best Feature,” and Stephanie Hsu won for her role playing queer character Joy/Jobu Tapaki. Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun took home the award for “Best First Film,” and trans-inclusive Pakistani film Joyland won “Best International Film.” Queer-inclusive film Tár also won an award for “Best Cinematography.”
