1.) Elegance Bratton’s narrative feature debut The Inspection hits theaters today! Inspired by Bratton’s personal experience, the film follows Ellis French (out Emmy-nominee Jeremy Pope), a young, gay Black man who desperately seeks the approval of his mother and struggles to disguise his sexual orientation in the Marine Corps. After battling deep-seated prejudice at basic training, Ellis finds unexpected camaraderie and a new sense of belonging that ultimately shapes his identity and forever changes his life. 2.) The People We Hate at the Wedding, starring out Tony Award-winner Ben Platt, is available now on Amazon Prime! Based on the novel of the same name by gay author Grant Grinder, the raunchy film chronicles the journey of dysfunctional American siblings Alice (Kristen Bell) and her gay brother Paul (Platt) as they attend the wedding of their estranged half-sister Eloise with their mother. 3.) Out Emmy-nominee Kristen Stewart has announced her feature directorial debut The Chronology of Water! Based on the memoir of the same name by out author Lidia Yuknavitch, the coming-of-age film chronicles the inner life of a young writer, swimmer, mother, teacher and survivor. 4.) Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for upcoming sports dramedy 80 for Brady, starring out Academy Award-nominee Lily Tomlin, as well as Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Sally Field, and the titular Tom Brady. The film is inspired by true events and follows four best friends who take an epic journey to the 2017 Super Bowl LI. 5.) Gravitas Ventures released a first-look clip of What Remains this week, marking out Emmy-nominated actress Anne Heche’s final film. The murder mystery thriller follows a paroled convict who returns to the town where he murdered the wife of a pastor, while the local sheriff (Heche) investigates a potentially related homicide. 6.) Gabrielle Union and Eva Longoria have announced the development of an LGBTQ wedding comedy with Amazon Studios! In the untitled project, the pair likely star as soon-to-be-mothers-in-law whose sons are getting married. Union gave us futher insight at the tastemaker screening of The Inspection, stating “Eva and I try to take over their wedding [planning] and make it the wedding of our dreams versus theirs.”

7.) Monster High is returning to Nickelodeon for a second season! The animated series stars a plethora of out voice actors, including Courtney Lin as Draculaura, transmasculine non-binary performer iris menas as Frankie Stein, queer actress Kausar Mohammed as Cleo De Nike, and non-binary performer Valeria Rodriguez as Lagoona Blue. The new season, based on the Mattel franchise, will continue to explore the monsters’ backgrounds and expand on the overarching theme of friendship.

8.) BBC and A24 have announced an adaptation of out writer and fashion designer Douglas Stuart’s Booker Prize-winning novel Shuggie Bain. Based on Stuart’s own childhood in Thatcher-era Glasgow, the series centers a mother-son relationship, where effeminate teen Shuggie struggles to fit in and cares for his mother as she battles alcoholism.

9.) Out singer-songwriter and rapper K.Flay has released a new single “It’s Been So Long”; listen here and watch the music video below! In other music news, queer singer-songwriter Olive Klug has released their new single “Out of Line” and queer rising dance pop artist Nieri has teamed up with DJs Protopapa and Hey Cabrera! for the remix of his song “Face”; check out the visualizer here! Additionally, the upcoming Broadway musical comedy Shucked has been set to feature music from out Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and record producer Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark!
