1.) Out icon Billy Porter’s directorial debut Anything’s Possible is set to launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video today! Based on a selection on The GLAAD List, the modern coming-of-age story follows confident trans high school student Kelsa (out trans actress Evan Reign) as she navigates the joy, tenderness, and pain of young love with classmate Khal during her senior year. 2.) Netflix has released first-look images of their upcoming dark comedy Do Revenge, lead by Stranger Things breakout star Maya Hawke as queer character Eleanor. After a clandestine meet-cute, popular girl Drea (Camila Mendes) and transfer student Eleanor team up to take vengeance on each other’s tormentors. Watch Do Revenge September 16!
3.) Peacock has released an official trailer for the upcoming slasher horror film They/Them. Set at a conversion therapy camp, the film follows camp director Owen Whistler and his staff during a week of programming intended to “help them [queer and trans teens] find a new sense of freedom.” As the camp’s methods delve into psychological torment, a mysterious killer begins to claim victims— leaving the campers, led by trans and nonbinary character Jordan (out actor Theo Germaine), to work together to protect themselves. Other out stars include Austin Crute as gay camper Toby, Monique Kim as bisexual camper Veronica, Anna Lore as closeted lesbian camper Kim, Cooper Koch as gay camper Stu, Darwin del Fabro as gay camper Gabriel, and Quei Tann as transgender camper Alexandra. 4.) Universal’s gay romantic comedy Bros, co-written and executive produced by out actor and comedian Billy Eichner, is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival for its world premiere ahead of its Septemeber 30 theatrical release. With a cast entirely composed of LGBTQ actors, the film follows Bobby Leiber (Eichner) as he stumbles towards love with a fellow gay man (out actor Luke McFarlane), despite both of their commitment issues. Additional out actors include TS Madison, Miss Lawrence, Symone, Guillermo Diaz, Guy Branum, Monica Raymund, Jim Rash, Harvey Fierstein, Bowen Yang, Amanda Bearse, Dot-Marie Jones, Jai Rodriguez and more! In other film news, Chelsea Peretti has wrapped production of her film directorial debut, First Time Female Director, starring out actors Meg Stalter and Benito Skinner. The film follows a newly hired female director (Peretti), who struggles to fill the shoes of her male predecessor, jeopardizing her Southern rural drama.

5.) Disney and Pixar have announced that their latest animated feature Lightyear is coming to Disney+ on August 3. The sci-fi action adventure tells the origin story of Buzz Lightyear, featuring his lesbian commander and best friend Alisha Hawthorne, voiced by Uzo Aduba, and her family. In more film release news, Sony has pushed back Madame Web’s theatrical release from July 7 to October 6, 2023. The film tells the origin story of the psychic clairvoyant and will feature non-binary actor Celeste O’Conner, as well as the first female protagonist within the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel.

6.) Out actor Kevin Daniels has signed on to star in the parody-comedy film Not Another Church Movie. The film follows Taylor Pherry (Daniels), an ambitious young man given a mission from God Himself to tell his family’s stories and inspire his community. In other casting news, out actors and singers Luke Evans and Fra Fee have been added to the cast of Netflix’s animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Evans will play the titular Scrooge in Scrooge: A Christmas Carol.
7.) VH1 has released a teaser trailer of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race season two, revealing a new twist: the identities of the celebrities will remain under wraps until they are eliminated from the competition. In a Masked Singer-style format, the season welcomes nine celebrities to undergo a drag transformation during weekly lip-sync smackdowns, with appearances from Drag Race alums, including as Monét X Change, Katya, Jujubee, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Gottmik, Eureka, and Violet Chachki. 8.) Out actor Noah J. Ricketts has been cast in Showtime’s limited series Fellow Travelers, alongside out stars Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey. Fellow Travelers is a love story and political thriller initially set in 1950’s McCarthy-era Washington DC. Based on a novel by out author Thomas Mallon, the series follows the volatile romance between two very different men— Hawkins “Hawk” Fuller (Bomer) and Tim Laughlin (Bailey)— over the course of four decades. Ricketts will play Frankie Hines, a drag performer who works in the Cozy Corner, Hawks favorite underground gay nightspot.
9.) AMC has released the official trailer for the second and final season of the critically-acclaimed dark comedy Kevin Can F**k Himself, featuring out character Patty and girlfriend Tammy. The second season picks up after Neil learns of Allison and Patty’s attempt to kill Allison’s husband, leaving them scrambling to deal with Neil and forcing Allison to find an alternative escape from her housewife life. Kevin Can F**k Himself season two is set to debut on Monday, August 22, with the first two episodes available on AMC+. Watch the trailer below!
10.) Queer singer-songwriter Betty Who has announced her upcoming album BIG! and released a new single “She Can Dance”, along with an accompanying music video; stream the song here and watch the video below! In more music news, Stranger Things star Maya Hawke has announced the release of her sophomore album Moss, out September 23, as well as an official audio video for the queer single, “Thérèse”; listen to the song here and watch the video here.
