1) Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max have nabbed Sundance premiere Am I OK?, directed by out writers, actors, and married couple Stephanie Allynne and Tig Notaro. The film follows 32-year-old LA resident Lucy (Dakota Johnson), who figures out later in life that the reason her dates with the opposite gender never end with anything more than a handshake is because, well, she’s not attracted to men. With the help of her life-long friend Jane (Sonoya Mizuno), Lucy attempts to navigate coming out in her 30s. Additionally, out musician and actor Troye Sivan’s upcoming film Three Months is set to stream on Paramount+ on February 23. The film follows Caleb, a high-school senior in South Florida who is exposed to HIV just as he’s about to begin a new chapter — and the new love he finds as he waits for his results. It was written by out writer Jared Frieder and was featured on the 2019 GLAAD List for outstanding LGBTQ screenplays.

2) A trailer has dropped for upcoming documentary Into My Name (Nel Mio Nome) executive produced by out trans actor Elliot Page. The film follows Nico, Leo, Andrea and Raff, a tight-knit group of friends in Bologna, Italy, all of whom are undergoing gender transitions and share important turning points in their lives. The project is rooted in director Nicolò Bassetti’s own experience with the transition of his son Matteo. Watch the trailer here!

3) Out actor Juan Pablo Di Pace will make his directorial debut with For Another Time, a coming-of-age story that follows Matías, a queer filmmaker who gets an unexpected invitation to revisit the family that forever influenced his past, forcing him to question the present while potentially changing his future. Additionally, out pansexual actress Emily Hampshire is starring in and executive producing The End of Sex, an under-the-radar rom-com that follows a young couple who, feeling the pressures of parenting and adulthood, send their kids to camp for the first time and embark on a series of sexual adventures to reinvigorate their relationship.
4) A trailer has been released for action-thriller Asking For It featuring out actors Kiersey Clemons and Alexandra Shipp. After being sexually assaulted on a date, small town waitress Joey (Clemons) meets Regina (Shipp) and Beatrice (Vanessa Hudgens) and is recruited into their vigilante group of badass women. Together they strive to take down a society overpowered by corrupt men and seek the ultimate revenge while getting their own version of justice. Watch the trailer below! Additionally, married couple Blake Lee and Ben Lewis will headline Married With Friends, a comedy inspired by their relationship. Married With Friends is an ensemble about a millennial friend group navigating life, friendships, and romantic relationships (or lack thereof) with Arthur and Bo – played by Lee and Lewis – as the glue that holds them all together.
5) Out actress Fiona Shaw has been cast in Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s upcoming directorial debut Hot Milk. Rose (Shaw) and her daughter Sofia (Jessie Buckley) travel to Spanish seaside town Almería to consult with shamanic Dr Gomez, a physician who could hold the cure to Rose’s mystery illness, which has left her bound to a wheelchair. But in the sultry atmosphere of this sun-bleached town Sofia, who has been trapped by her mother’s illness all her life, finally starts to shed her inhibitions, enticed by the persuasive charms of enigmatic traveler Ingrid. Out actor and singer Halsey has been cast in the upcoming film National Anthem, which follows a hunt for a Lakota Native American Ghost Shirt for different individuals for varying reasons.

6) Disney+ has announced a new series The Temperature of Me and You, based on the queer YA sci-fi novel of the same name. The story follows Dylan, who meets a cute boy names Jordan, with a very high body temperature and an intense out of this world secret. The book is currentlly available wherever books are sold! FX has introduced the cast for writer, director and executive producer Peter Tolan’s semi-autobiographical comedy pilot Belated. The pilot follows an unexpected intergenerational friendship between Sachin (out actor Kal Penn), a recently out man in his 40s, and Clay (non-binary actor Kaden Kearney), a 17-year-old trans teen, as Sachin and his ex-wife (Ellie Taylor) and children (Amir Bageria and EaeMya ThynGi) attempt to find their new normal. In more casting news, the actors have been announced for upcoming series The Resort, a multi-generational, coming-of-age love story disguised as a fast-paced mystery about the disappointment of time. Out actor Luis Gerardo Mendez will play head of security at the resort and Michael Hitchcock will play gay character Ted who is on vacation with his homonymously-named husband.
7) The season 4 trailer for Killing Eve has dropped! Following Eve (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle’s (Jodie Comer) exchange on the bridge, the former is on a revenge mission, while the latter has found a brand new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a “monster.” Having killed Paul, Carolyn (out actress Fiona Shaw) goes to extraordinary lengths to continue to chase down The Twelve and the person that ordered Kenny’s hit. Watch the trailer below! The season 2 trailer for comedy series Space Force has also been released! The series features gay Space Force chief scientist Dr. Adrian Mallory (John Malkovich) and lesbian Chief of Naval Operations Jane Lynch playing herself. Watch the trailer here! In other news, A Million Little Things, which features gay character Daniel Dixon (Chance Hurstield), returns for the second half of its fourth season February 23.
8) And Just Like That…The Documentary has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of HBO Max Sex and the City spin-off series, and viewers can expect to see interviews with new and returning cast members including out actors Cynthia Nixon, Sara Ramírez (who plays non-binary podcast host and stand-up comic Che Diaz), and Mario Cantone. Watch the trailer below! HBO’s Somebody Somewhere has been renewed for a second season. The show follows lead character Sam (Bridget Everett) who finds community in an unexpected place in her Kansas hometown, this community includes her coworker Joel (out actor Jeff Hiller) and local emcee Fred Rococo (out actor Murray Hill), who are both queer. Furthermore, out model, actor, and deaf activist Nyle DeMarco will play a charming grad student in Peacock’s Queer as Folk reboot. Additionally, out actor Rick Cosnett will return to The Flash in season 8 as Eddie Thawne, an original character who was killed off in a previous season but will be taken “somewhere unexpected” in multiple episodes.
9) Gentleman Jack has released the first images from its upcoming second season. Set in 1834 in Yorkshire, Suranne Jones stars as Anne Lister, a convention-busting Victorian woman who embarks on a lesbian relationship with Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle). In Season 2, the now-married women intend to become a local power couple. Out filmmaker Justin Simien is additionally set to adapt and direct contemporary series reboot Flashdance, which will revolve around a young Black woman with ballet dreams and a strip club reality who struggles to find her place in the world while navigating romance, money, art, friendship and how to love herself.

10) Atlanta-based synthpop musician and activist TAYLOR ALXNDR has released a music video for single “Big City” ft. Breathers off their upcoming EP 1993 – stream the video below! Additionally, the music video for single “Kissing Lessons” by Lucy Dacus is out now (watch it here!), and both single “God is a Freak” by lesbian artist PeachPRC (stream it here!) and album Bitchcraft by Bitch (stream it here!) have dropped. 11) NewFest, New York’s LGBTQ+ film and media organization, on Friday unveiled the spring lineup for “NewFest Presents,” its monthly screening series taking place in-person at The LGBT Community Center in NYC, and streaming virtually through NewFest’s Virtual Screening Room nationwide. The documentaries include Gemmel & Tim, Caer, and No Straight Lines: The Rise of Queer Comics.
