An all-new four-part NBC News Studios production docuseries from MSNBC Films is telling the stories of four generations of Americans.
My Generation recounts the lived histories of Baby Boomers (born 1946 to 1964), Generation X (born 1965 to 1981), Millennials (born 1981 to 1996) and Gen Z (born after 1997). Combining archival footage and original interviews, the series documents the most influential moments in politics, media, and culture that shaped each generation.
Part four spotlights Generation Z and is narrated by actress Jenna Ortega.
Airing Saturday, October 26th on MSNBC, the episode will feature powerful interviews from David Hogg and notable Gen Z activists, Olivia Juliana who was a part of GLAAD’s 20 Under 20 Class of 2022 , creator & reproductive rights activist Deja Foxx, and more.

“I am a parent of 2 children, we live in Texas, and my older child is transgender,” Briggle says in the clip. Briggle shares the story of her son’s journey of discovering his identity and says that, “He was so relieved to finally be seen.”
“Basically his name and his pronouns changed and he got a zillion times happier.” However, things have not been easy for the Briggle family in Texas. “In 2016, less than a year after Max’s transition, the anti-trans backlash exploded in America,” Ortega explains.
When Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that he’d be suing the Obama administration over trans inclusive policies, Amber Briggle responded by inviting Paxton to dinner with her family. After what Briggle described as a “lovely” dinner, she reminded him, “Next time a piece of legislation comes to you, we want you to think about our son and how that would effect him.”
Amber Briggle and her family were featured in a PSA by GLAAD in 2022 called “Protect Our Families.” The video aimed to show anti-LGBTQ politicians that families with transgender children are just like any other. Kids like Max just want to be kids, watch his story here:
In April of 2022, at the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, Amber Briggle shared the story of her family and called on media to tell more trans stories and include families like her’s:
