Cartoon Network’s We Baby Bears is back with another LGBTQ inclusive episode just in time for Pride Month! Premiering Saturday, June 17th, “Polly’s New Crew” will feature two nonbinary characters and a discussion about pronoun usage.
In “Polly’s New Crew,” the bears reunite with their old friend Polly the Pirate Captain. They soon learn that Polly is under the effect of a pirate curse and need to help them overcome it.
Watch the exclusive sneak peek here:
“Our crew also has a new addition,” one of the bears shares. “Meet Box! They use they/them pronouns and they make an exceptionally good quiche!”
Polly excitedly shares that they “use they/them pronouns as well!”
“So, let’s get this pirate adventure going!” The bears are ready for a fun day at sea now that they’re all acquainted. Unfortunately, there’s just one little problem preventing that from happening.
“That’s far too risky…” Polly prepares to reveal their deep dark secret, “Since I’m cursed!”
Tune in Saturday, June 17th at 10am ET/PT on Cartoon Network to find out what happens next!
This isn’t the first LGBTQ inclusive episode of the show. Back in May, Cartoon Network released an episode of We Baby Bears featuring trans actress Dominique Jackson.
On “Polly’s New Crew,” the We Baby Bears team shared that, “During the production of “We Baby Bears,” a few crew members came out with they/them pronouns, and we felt that it was important to reflect that in the show. Our show team values representation because it’s something everybody on the show deeply cares about, and that’s why we aim to cast LGBTQ talent like Alok Vaid-Menon, Harvey Guillén, and Dominique Jackson.”
