Since it was such a blast last year, we decided to do it again. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Meredith Marks welcomed GLAAD into her boutique on Main Street in Park City, Utah to celebrate the LGBTQ community during the Sundance Film Festival.
Guests included GLAAD’s VP of Communications & Talent Anthony Allen Ramos; GLAAD’s Senior Director of Entertainment & Transgender Inclusion, Alex Schmider; Russell Tovey from the Sundance film Plainclothes, Glee alum Chris Colfer; The Challenge‘s Paulie Calafiore; as well as Reid Marks, Brooks Marks, Seth Marks, Olivia Katz, and more.
“Sundance has always been a snapshot of queer stories and is such an important gathering place for the community,” said Eugene Hernandez, Director of the Sundance Film Festival, in a recent interview with GLAAD. He added, “Film festivals are more important than ever right now, I’m clearly biased, because I’ve run this and previous festival but I really believe that this is a time when, like media is evolving. You have other distribution platforms taking shape and how we consume media and entertainment. Like last year at Sundance, Marks continues to show her allyship to GLAAD, consistently lending support to uplift the LGBTQ community’s voices in various impactful ways. On an episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, fans got to see Meredith, her husband Seth, and her son Brooks attending the 34th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in LA. “The GLAAD Awards is a very special night,” Marks began. She spoke about how important representation in the media and entertainment worlds are since it “helps shape the way society views everything. And perception is everything. If we can get people to have a better level of understanding, there’s more acceptance.”
