Linda Harvey
Founder, Mission: America
Columnist, WND
—Wrote that “Men who dress as women” are attuned to “dark spirits” and that ‘drag’ identifiers “follow paganism, witchcraft, or Satanism. They don’t even try to hide this close connection…. These wicked people are eagerly seducing and grooming children right under our eyes, if we let them.”
—Head of Mission: America, which lists homosexuality and witchcraft as two of its focal points.
—Accused LGBTQ adults of using Halloween as a recruitment tool: “In today’s America, we are allowing ourselves to be deceived by the depraved demands of hardened lesbians and men in lipstick. October 31 symbolizes the happy rebellion. And many of those involved in homosexuality or gender pretense really do get this, and don’t care. They aren’t simply joining another parade and strutting an outrageous ensemble—and the drag kings and queens certainly do that. But it’s the night for permitted release of all inhibitions as they ‘come out’ in the ‘spirit’ of the event.”
—Wrote: “We are supposed to believe homosexually-inclined people are ‘born that way’ to engage in anatomically-risky acts precluding parenthood. And encouraging any change is allegedly cruel. But people who imagine they are the opposite sex must be encouraged to change—to take unnatural hormones and amputate healthy body parts. We are cruel if we don’t let them mutilate themselves, even to the point of heightened health risks and permanent sterility. The truth is exactly the opposite in both circumstances.
—Said of LGBTQ acceptance among public school students: “It’s another of Satan’s lies, and as we know, the enemy loves to destroy children.”
—Claimed “the gay identity is a delusion”: “Two men, no matter how sincere they feel, or two women, will never be a marriage. The person who believes this disorder is ‘who he is,’ as apparently [Sen. Rob] Portman’s son does, has tragically internalized a lie.”
—Said the anti-bullying Day of Silence is a “God-dishonoring day“
—Applauded cab drivers for refusing to advertise Gay Games, before then portraying those same cab drivers as “scary” and as “despis[ing] Christians”: “About twenty-five cab drivers who are Muslims are refusing to drive cabs that display the Gay Games promotional signs. And you know what, I totally agree with them, good for them for having the courage to stand up and do this…. Unlike Christians that the LGBT folks keep trying to paint as haters and harassers, Muslims really are sometimes kind of scary or they have scary friends…. But there’s something else. Could it be that the two groups have a common denominator that transcends the homosexuality issue, and that is they both essentially despise Christians?”
—Said activists pushing back against rhetoric like hers is equivalent to Nazi Germany and Islamic radicals: “Hate branding, focusing on Jews, succeeded in branding them as the ‘enemy’ in public opinion in Nazi Germany. It’s the method used today by Islamic radicals who spread ludicrous fables about Jews in many mosques.”
—Blames LGBTQ activism for gay suicides: “One wonders if any of these kids ever heard a clearly articulated warning against homosexuality. Or were they faced with a continuous onslaught of pro-homosexual diversity lessons, novels and events like the ‘Day of Silence’? Were they surrounded with liberal teachers as role models and the bad example of a homosexual school club? What part did any of this play in the sad belief that homosexuality was an inevitable destiny, instead of a wayward yet changeable sexual inclination? Under almost continuous pressure to accept a lie—confusion and then despair may be the predictable result…. But there’s a solution. First and foremost, kids should be told the truth that no one is born gay. Despite any budding feelings he or she may have, many people who felt similarly at that age went on to change both their feelings and behavior, and to be well-adjusted adult heterosexuals, some married with children. The gay lobbyists actively prevent kids from knowing this option. Why can’t they be ‘pro-choice’ regarding homosexuality?… Could the stifling political correctness in certain schools be one of the reasons some kids feel utterly hopeless?
—One of the few conservatives to admit that her fight against marriage rights is due to her animus against homosexuality: “We aren’t fighting to protect marriage because the term and tradition are important. Let’s be honest that the only reason for this dispute is because people want to engage in anatomically challenged behavior that is observably unnatural, medically risky, improper as an example for children, and changeable…. So in view of marriage law or public accommodations, could the immorality of homosexuality be a rationale for refusing to honor same-sex nuptials? Absolutely, it should be…. The constructed identity of being ‘gay’ is harmful and should not be considered a worthy defense in light of reality. The evidence clearly points to the truth that everyone is intrinsically a heterosexual. We need to have the guts to stand up and say so. Our defense should not be because we Christians just hope to somehow preserve narrow rights over here in our holy huddle. It’s because homosexuality is unnatural and unnecessary, and the harm its advocacy is doing to our culture is apparent to anyone with half a brain, even atheists. Confusion abounds only because we won’t state the obvious.”
—Claims same-sex couples use their kids as “props“: “The kids are essentially props to be trotted out, sadly, at events like ‘pride’ parades.”
—On transgender human beings: “‘Transgenders’ [sic] are sad people dwelling in deep shame and despair, but they are not doomed to this lifestyle. Change is totally possible, as ex-transsexual Walt Heyer discovered. Yet those in influential positions can do a lot of damage if they don’t resolve their confusion and resentments. They need intense counseling to overcome their delusions.”
—On LGBTQ activism: “We need to first understand the decline into barbarism that homosexual and sex-change activism brings. Then, we need to each be that person who gets it, who understands that these folks with their radical ideology are purposely endangering families, children, our nation’s security, our economy and the religious freedom of all who don’t go along. God has warned us in the pages of Scripture that these sinful impulses will end in catastrophe. It’s not true that this is just another way to love, but these activists, as you can see, intend to overturn the beauty of traditional sexual morality.”
—On openly LGB soldiers: “We need non-effeminate men in the military. Does anyone really believe that a prancing drill sergeant won’t detract from readiness? Where women are serving, they should be women of high character, not those who embrace homosexual conduct and publicly declare a ‘sin’ identity. These folks have truly lost their way, their shame, their innate sense of God’s touch on and design for their lives.”
—More: “However it’s occurring, paid and/or voluntary ‘gay’-stapo members are trolling the web and social media looking for a crisis to invent. These pink jihadists, diligent to protect the upstanding reputation of sodomy, are ready with slurs, innuendo and other mud-slinging at a moment’s notice to pelt the ordinary, tradition-minded citizen. Once the unwashed mob is mobilized into action, HRC, Garden State [In]Equality and their fellow travelers launch their well-honed but reprehensible tactic of screaming bloody murder over nothing. It’s pointless to debate with them, because their goal is fear, intimidation, even anarchy and revolution. If a few innocent people suffer along the way, they don’t care. This is the authentic face of sexually perverted ‘tolerance.’”
—Says all LGBTQ rights are off the table: “We need to really, really watch any affirmation of the so-called gays and lesbians, or homosexuals, as an identity and seemingly as an in-born identity—we need to reject all of that….Even sadly within the conservative movement, we have people who are inching up to or going right out there and saying that, ‘well, we don’t want to give them the word marriage, but anything short of that we need to let gays and lesbians get their rights’—NO! It will impact our culture, it will impact those people—they will be outside the will of God—and it will impact all schools, not just the public schools.”
—Equates pro-LGBTQ books with things like incest and abuse: “The problem with the ALA is that they really don’t have standards against which to measure the concerns of parents and citizens…. Where would they draw the line at the subject matter children read? Is incest okay? Adult-child sex? Parents who abuse kids? Cutting? Sadomasochism? Sorcery practiced by children? How about bomb-making and sedition against America?”
—Says LGBTQ safe spaces are tantamount to child corruption: “By labeling kids with this ‘sin’ identity, adults who should be caring and wise will instead encourage children to sin. It’s essentially child corruption” Adds: “What’s next, off-setting the national debt by selling our children into prostitution?”
—Warns of the “cleaned up” gays who convince families that LGBTQ people are okay.
—Claims being gay is like overeating.
—Says of LGBTQ rights movement: “The LGBT agenda as part of a civil rights program is an insult to our intelligence, to our nation’s character, to black civil rights pioneers and to God Almighty. And it’s a threat to our future. Those of us with sense and a conscience need to stand up and say so.”
—Said the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) safe schools agenda is “pure evil.”
The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
