—Insisted that liberals would support a suspected child rapist if he were gay and his victims were young boys.
—Tweeted (since deleted) to criticize out presidential candidate and gay Christian, Pete Buttigieg: “I mean if Buttigieg thinks evangelicals should be supporting him instead of Trump, he fundamentally does not understand the roots of Christianity. But then he is an Episcopalian, so he might not actually understand Christianity more than superficially.”
—Warns that LGBTQ nondiscrimination bills will “ban Christianity.”
—Insists: “The gay rights movement has been normalized through a well-orchestrated PR campaign” and “It is hard to convince any sane person that boys can become girls or that snow in April is caused by global warming. So you must be bullied into belief.”
—Says our nation cannot determine evil because we increasingly accept transgender men and women: “A society that looks at a 65-year-old male Olympian and, with a straight face, declares him a her and ‘a new normal’ cannot have a conversation about mental health or evil because that society no longer distinguishes normal from crazy and evil from good. Our American society has a mental illness—overwhelming narcissism and delusion—and so cannot recognize what crazy or evil looks like.”
—Says gay people “must repent” and “not act on” their sexuality.
—Argued that men are dominant, saying, “We’ve gotten to the point in this country where a lot of feminists who think the male and female roles are completely interchangeable. There is no need for a man to support his family, you’ve got men walking away, women becoming single mothers not by their choice. You got a lot of people thinking this is a lifestyle choice. It isn’t healthy for society when we think that roles of gender can be completely interchangeable. No one’s saying a woman can’t be the breadwinner or even the primary breadwinner. It’s just when they have to be, that’s not a good thing for society.”
—Claims a society that affirms LGBTQ rights is “a society bent on suicide.”
—In column titled “Why Not Incest?” (since deleted) claims many current supporters of marriage equality really support things like incest and polygamy, but just lie about it for now: “The truth is, many, many, many of the same people who are now in support of gay marriage, but would oppose this or polygamy will, once the next step is advanced, support these things too. They just have to lie about it for now until they can shift public opinion further.”
—Attacks feminists by calling them “ugly” (“too ugly to get a date”; “Ugly feminists return to their kitchens”).
—Said to a caller: “I’m still stuck on you not calling them gays because they have nothing to be happy about. That’s actually pretty good.”
—Referred to Michelle Obama as a “Marxist harpy wife.”
The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
