Don Wildmon
Founder and Chairman, American Family Association
—From Don Wildmon’s “Principles Which Guide the AFA’s Opposition to the Homosexual Agenda”: “I never dreamed I would see the day when sodomy would be called normal, and those who held to traditional values based on Christian teaching would be called bigots.”
—Wrote in a fundraising email: “Putting a man like [Michael] Sam, who says he is sexually attracted to men, in with all that beefcake seems unfair to the straight players and a distraction to Sam. … Would you put a heterosexual man in the locker room/showers with all the female cheerleaders?”
—Said: “They have these effeminate, a lot of them, actions. They walk like a girl, a lot of them.… It makes you wonder, how did that develop, where does that come from?”
The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
