—Claimed without any evidence: “The most expensive health care cost in America right now, by far, individually, is for homosexuals. They cost more in the system than any other, hands down.”
—Linked the “evils” of LGBTQ rights with the evils of Nazis, arguing: “The evil that’s there, it still works in the same deceptive means today, it still has that nice smiling face and, you know, a homosexual lifestyle, it’s such a wonderful lifestyle. Yeah? Why don’t you look at the medical stats and see if that’s really true? And so it always disguises itself in different ways, it comes through different means. We see it all the time.”
—Believes there will never be an AIDS vaccine because he states AIDS is the body’s God-ordained penalty for engaging in homosexual acts, and will never be cured.
—Claims HIV/AIDS is God’s punishment: “There’s a passage that I love in Romans 1—I don’t love what the topic is—but it talks about homosexuality and it says that they will receive in their bodies the penalties of their behavior. And the Bible again, it’s right every time, and studies keep proving that and that’s why AIDS has been something they haven’t discovered a cure for or a vaccine for, because it’s the fastest self-mutating virus known to mankind. Every time they just about get a vaccine discovered for it, it transmutes into something new and they have to start over again. And that goes to what God says, hey you’re going to bear in your body the consequences of this homosexual behavior.”
—Suggested government should “regulate homosexuality” the way it does trans fats or cigarettes: “So if I go to the Centers for Disease Control and I’m concerned about health, I find some interesting stats there and this should tell me something about health. Homosexual/bisexual individuals are seven times to contemplate or commit suicide. Oooh, that doesn’t sound very healthy. Homosexuals die decades earlier than heterosexuals. That doesn’t sound healthy.”
—Of New York’s legalization of marriage forgay couples, said: “No disrespect to our Native American friends, but this is where you hang a bloody scalp over the gallery rail. You hang these four Republican scalps over the Senate rail and every other Republican senator looks up and sees those scalps and says, ‘my gosh, I’ll be hanging up there beside them if I don’t stay with this pro-family stuff.’ And that’s exactly what has to happen.”
—On God’s retribution: “So I’ve got a ballot, I’ve got a vote, I vote for somebody that approves homosexuality, God doesn’t approve me if I approve those who approve homosexuality…. The Bible is so good about helping us know how to vote, because what you said is exactly right. The reason homosexuality will kill the blessing and I’ll tell you why, if I support someone who supports homosexuality, it will kill the blessing on me whether I’m a homosexual or not.” (see first video on webpage).
—On gay people: “It is not normal in nature…It’s against evolutionary law. It doesn’t happen.”
—Says he doesn’t care what the Supreme Court says because God has said gays are like murderers, fornicators, kidnappers, liars, etc.
—On marriage equality: “Messing around with marriage will affect economic prosperity of a nation because you’re violating the commands of God.”
—Says of gays: “Gay means happy, bright and cheerful and that’s not what homosexuality is.”
The GLAAD Accountability Project catalogs anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and discriminatory actions of politicians, commentators, organization heads, religious leaders, and legal figures, who have used their platforms, influence and power to spread misinformation and harm LGBTQ people.
