Drew Anderson joins GLAAD in the new role of Director of News & Rapid Response. He comes to GLAAD most recently from the Indiana Democratic Party, where he served as Communications Director. In Indiana, Drew served as spokesperson for the state party, increased social media audiences, created a proactive rapid response program that helped redefine Indiana’s gubernatorial race. Further, he used Mike Pence’s RFRA as a key LGBTQ rights issue to create strong narratives to further efforts toward true acceptance in the Hoosier State. Additionally, Drew has had extensive political experience that’s needed to hold the Trump Administration and anti-LGBTQ politicians accountable, including stints with the Wendy Davis for Governor Campaign in Texas, U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly in Washington, D.C., and the Obama for America reelection in 2012. Drew is from Tipton, Indiana and has a journalism degree from Indiana University.
