David Archuleta is entering a new chapter: bold, unfiltered, and completely on his own terms.
The pop vocalist and fan-favorite singer-songwriter is gearing up to release his brand-new EP Earthly Delights on August 15, and it’s unlike anything listeners have heard from him before. Following the success of his shimmering singles “Crème Brûlée” and “Can I Call You,” this six-track collection dives into themes of desire, self-discovery, and romantic freedom, all through the lens of someone finally allowing themselves to indulge.
“I think I’m indulging in just being able to flirt and be sensual,” Archuleta told Vice President of Communications & Talent, Anthony Allen Ramos. “Be a little sexier when I get into writing romantic songs… things that felt forbidden before. These are my earthly delights.”
The EP is personal, raw, and often playful. Each track offers a glimpse into Archuleta’s emotional world and growing sense of comfort in his queerness. “Give You the World” reflects the vulnerability that comes with dating and how fears and past trauma can create unexpected barriers when you’re trying to connect.
On “Lucky”, Archuleta ties into the soulful side of relationships,” capturing “how beautiful it can feel when you let yourself fully experience intimacy”. “Home” offers a tender reminder that queer love is as wholesome, grounding and full of possibility as any other love story. And with “Dulce Amor”, which translates to sweet love, he delivers a playful and romantic message that even in his “flirty era”, he will be a lover boy at heart, forever.
Along with the release of the EP, Archuleta is also preparing to hit the road for a North American tour starting September 17. And for the first time ever, he’s bringing a whole new energy to the stage, including choreography, lighting design, and a vibe inspired by his recent experiences at raves and music festivals.
“I wanted it to be intimate and fun, but also a little unexpected,” he shared. “I’ve been working with choreographers, lighting designers, and really creating a world that feels flirty, expressive, and free. I’ve never done a tour like this before.”
This era for Archuleta isn’t just about music, it’s about embracing life more fully. From learning how to be open to love, to exploring new sides of himself, he’s letting go of old rules and rewriting his own narrative.
“I’ve always been open to love,” he said. “But now, I’ve given myself more knowledge of who I am. I used to think I’d only find love one way… and I’ve realized there’s so much more to discover when you let yourself be open. I’m still figuring it out, still exploring, but I’m hopeful. I’m excited. There’s more life to live and more people to meet.”
With Earthly Delights, David Archuleta invites listeners into that journey, and it’s one filled with sweetness, sexiness, and sincere self-expression.
