1.) The Wedding Banquet hit theaters today! Ang Lee’s reimagining of the 1993 classic is a joyful comedy about a chosen family navigating the disasters and delights of queerness, cultural identity, and family expectations. When Min’s (Han Gi-chan) boyfriend Chris (Bowen Yang) rejects his proposal, he makes an offer to his friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) instead: a green card marriage in exchange for funding her partner Lee’s (Lily Gladstone) IVF treatments. But their plans go awry when Min’s skeptical grandmother flies in from Korea unannounced. Catch The Wedding Banquet at a theater near you!
2.) Neon released the official trailer for Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck. Featuring out actors Kate Siegel and Harvey Guillén, the genre-bending tale celebrates the life of Charles “Chuck” Krantz as he experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us. Find The Life of Chuck in select cities June 6 and everywhere June 13!
3.) In more Harvey Guillén news, the What We Do in the Shadows star was cast in (Saint) Peter. The coming-of-age dramedy follows Peter Planes, a high school freshman who seeks refuge with an eclectic group of new friends after people start to believe that his brother is a holy saint. Guillén plays Daymon Grundy, an aspiring journalist. Report back for updates!

4.) Prime Video shared the trailer for Another Simple Favor, featuring out actors Andrew Rannells and Alex Newell. In the sequel, Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) and Emily (Blake Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s wedding. With murder and betrayal on the guest list, Another Simple Favor brings more twists and turns than ever before. Watch the trailer below and stream the pic on May 1!
5.) Apple acquired the global rights to Ryan White’s Come See Me in the Good Light. The documentary centers on poets and partners Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley, who face an incurable cancer diagnosis with joy, wit, resilience and unwavering love. Featuring an original song performed by Brandie Carlile and Sara Bareilles, the pic is produced by Tig Notaro, Jessica Hargrave and Stef Willen, as well as executive producers Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach. 6.) Out playwright Leslye Headland’s Broadway debut Cult of Love is coming to the silver screen! Adapted and directed by Headland, the dark comedy examines the sin of pridefulness, shown through an intimate Christmas gathering where secrets are revealed and family bonds are tested. In other film news, nonbinary House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy joined Tom Cruise in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s untitled film. In the pic, premiering October 2, 2026, the most powerful man in the world embarks on a mission to prove that he is the savior of humanity. Keep an eye out for additional news!

7.) Max shared the trailer and release date for And Just Like That… season three! The sequel series picks up over twenty years after the original show concluded, following Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they navigate family, love and friendship. In the new season, Miranda and Lisa explore workplace crushes while Carrie dive into fiction writing and Charlotte’s daughter dates a ballet dancer. In addition to returning out characters Anthony (Mario Cantone) and Rock (Alexa Swinton), the season introduces some new faces, including lesbian actresses Rosie O’Donnell and Racquel Chevremont. 8.) Netflix dropped the official trailer for comedy miniseries The Four Seasons. Based on the 1981 feature of the same name, the show follows three couples, including Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani), over the course of four vacations as issues old and new bubble to the surface. 9.) In other Netflix news, the streamer revealed the release date and a teaser for The Sandman, providing a first look at returning nonbinary character Desire, played by nonbinary actor Mason Alexander Park. In the second and final season, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) must face one impossible decision after another as he attempts to save himself, his kingdom, and the world from the epic fallout of his past misdeeds. 10.) The official trailer for Poker Face season two arrived! In the season, human lie detector Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) is back on the run in her 1969 Plymouth Barracuda, crossing paths with a slew of LGBTQ stars, including Cynthia Erivo, Taylor Schilling, Sherry Cola, Patti Harrison and Alia Shawkat. 11.) RuPaul’s Drag Race pit crew member Bruno Alcantara is set to host Happy Endings with Bruno on WOW Presents Plus! In the show, Alcantara invites guests to his massage studio for a session interwoven with intimate and emotional conversations that speak to the titular question: “What does my Happy Ending look like?” Each episode features new celebrity guests and legends from across the Drag Race universe, including out stars Kyle Krieger, Nick Lemmer, Kameron Michaels, Sebastian Molina and Sam Phusri! 12.) Prime Video debuted the trailer for Wear Whatever the F You Want. Over a decade after the finale of What Not to Wear, the iconic queer fashion duo Stacy London and Clinton Kelly team back up to celebrate individual style and personal expression over outdated style rules. 13.) Queer singer-songwriter BODHI released their latest single “Velvet Blues” and trans The Voice star Sasha Allen shared their debut EP Jawbreaker. Additionally, multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana’s single “Ride” is featured on Inspired By Jane, the companion EP to Apple TV+’s GLAAD Media Award-nominated series Jane. Out bounce artist Big Freedia also dropped the new song “Sunday Best,” featuring Tamar Braxton. Finally, bisexual singer-songwriter Orla Gartland released a triumphant breakup anthem “Now What?” with an accompanying visualizer, found below!
14.) The Peabody Awards unveiled this year’s nominees, which feature a bevy of inclusive programs! LGBTQ standouts include TV shows Baby Reindeer, Fantasmas, Hacks, Ripley and We Are Lady Parts; documentaries Queendom and Will & Harper; the interactive & immersive VR experience Body of Mine; and the podcast Pulse: The Untold Story.
