“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 17 is here and the queens are dishing on where they would be without drag, sharing their drag origin stories and giving some advice to up and coming artists.
GLAAD’s Tony Morrison talked with the newly announced cast, getting all the tea from Acacia Forgot, Arrietty, Crystal Envy, Hormona Lisa, Jewels Sparkles, Joella, Kori King, Lana Ja’Rae, Lexi Love, Lucky Starzzz, Lydia B Kollins, Onya Nurve, Sam Star and Suzie Toot.
Here’s what they said about drag their in their hometowns and how their drag has evolved over the years, leading them to the main stage of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”:

Taking us back to when and where it all began, the queens also shared their experiences of doing drag for the first time:
Representing a cast comprising of queer, trans and nonbinary experiences, the queens recognized the importance that community and chosen family has in the sociopolitical climate we are now in.
Crystal Envy, Hormona Lisa and Jewels Sparkles reflected on ways our vibrant LGBTQ can come together in creative and new ways, in a time that may feel hopeless to so many:
