1.) Mufasa: The Lion King hits theaters today! Told through a series of flashbacks, the adventure musical introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets Taka, a sympathetic lion who is the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of a group of misfits searching for their destinies. Billy Eichner is among the star-studded voice cast as Timon, the wise-cracking meerkat who befriends Simba as a cub and provides colorful commentary throughout the story. 2.) Grey’s Anatomy breakout Midori Francis is leading the upcoming Australian horror Saccharine, which explores body image, self-worth and shame-driven compulsion through a queer lens. The pic follows Hana (Francis), a lovelorn medical student who becomes terrorised by a hungry ghost after taking part in an obscure weight-loss craze: eating human ashes.

3.) In more casting news, Kate Berlant boarded The Saviors, a darkly comedic indie thriller. The film centers on a suburban couple whose life spirals into paranoia and danger when they rent their garage to mysterious tenants. Berlant plays a conspiracy theorist named Cleo. Keep an eye out for these exciting projects!

4.) Kitty Song-Kovey is ready to do some more Seoul-searching in the official trailer for XO, Kitty season two! In the upcoming season of the To All the Boys spinoff, Kitty returns to The Korean Independent School of Seoul determined to hit the books and learn more about her late mother. Newly single after discovering her feelings for Yuri, Kitty aims to not meddle, matchmake, or cause any more drama. But her plan fizzles fast amid new faces, messy crushes and family secrets. 5.) Peacock debuted the trailer for the third season of hit reality series The Traitors! Hosted by Alan Cumming, the murder mystery game divides its star-studded players into two groups: the Traitors and the Faithful. Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors murder the Failful one by one while the Failful try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. In the highly-anticipated third season, danger and deception lurk around every corner as LGBTQ competitors Bob the Drag Queen, Chrisell Stause, Gabby Windey, Bob Harper, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, and Carolyn Wiger compete for a shot at winning up to $250,000. 6.) Dungeons and Drag Queens returns in a new trailer for the second season of the Dimension 20’s spin-off. The anthology actual play show features Bob the Drag Queen as Tiefling sorcerer Gertrude, Alaska Thunderfuck as Orc barbarian Princess Foehammer, Monét X Change as Mer fighter Troyánn and Jujubee as Fairy ranger Twyla. Following the same format as season one, Brennan Lee Mulligan acts as dungeon master, leading the Questing Queest as they face new enemies and challenges. Find the trailer below!
7.) Netflix released behind-the-scenes photos of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, which wrapped production this week! The new season of the critically-acclaimed supernatural drama picks up in the fall of 1987, more than a year after the events of season four, and continues to feature lesbian character Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) for one last adventure. 8.) In more Netflix news, the streamer shared teaser posters of the final season of You, which is set to premiere in 2025! In the season, Penn Badgley reprises his role as the central killer, who has taken many victims throughout the previous seasons. Executive produced by Greg Berlanti, the season introduces out actors Nava Mau, Natasha Behnam and Griffin Matthews in undisclosed roles. Check out the first-look posters below!

9.) Hulu renewed popular drama series Tell Me Lies for a third season! Based on Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, the show chronicles the toxic and co-dependent relationship between Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco. After Lucy’s freshman year roommate tragically passes away during Welcome Week, the couple and their friends— including Pippa, Bree, Wrigley, Evan, and Drew—come together in grief and form a complex support group. In the second season, bisexual character Pippa, played by nonbinary actor Sonia Mena, develops a romantic connection of her own. Stream the first two seasons of Tell Me Lies today!

10.) Queer, nonbinary and woman-led group The Velveteers rallied against misogyny in the music industry with the single “On And On,” from the upcoming album A Million Knives, out on Valentine’s Day 2025. Watch the official music video below! In more music news, NFL Christmas Gameday on Netflix announced the addition of Pentatonix to its star-stacked musical lineup; tune in to the national anthem at 4:30pm ET on Christmas Day!
