1.) The intimate documentary Elton John: Never Too Late hits theaters today! Directed by John’s husband David Furnish and R.J. Cutler, the pic follows the titular icon as he prepares for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium, taking viewers back in time to recount the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his 50-year career. Catch Never Too Late in select theaters now or stream the film next month on Disney+!
2.) Greenwich Entertainment’s indie drama Close to You is now available to stream on Netflix! Starring and co-written by Elliot Page, the film centers on Sam, a trans man who apprehensively returns to his hometown for the first time in almost four years. On his journey, Sam confronts his relationship with his family, reunites with a first love, and discovers a newfound confidence in himself. Watch the trailer below and stream Close to You today!
3.) Ahead of its world premiere today at DOC NYC, HBO released the official trailer for its original documentary Surveilled. The doc finds out Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow investigating the Israeli cyber-intelligence firm NSO Group. As Farrow exposes the complex relationship between the spyware-makers and the big tech companies dedicated to preventing security breaches of their platforms, the film illuminates a clandestine business reshaping contemporary concepts of privacy and power and reveals the ethical dilemmas that citizens and governments must now navigate in the brave new world of cyberespionage. 4.) Netflix unveiled the official trailer for the dark comedy No Good Deed, starring queer actors Abbi Jacobson and Poppy Liu as a couple alongside guest stars Kate Moening and Matt Rogers! From out Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman, the series follows three families all vying for the same 1920s Spanish style villa that they think will solve their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can turn into your worst nightmare. Check out the trailer below and watch No Good Deed December 12!
5.) In more Netflix news, the streamer shared the official trailer for the upcoming conspiracy thriller series The Madness, starring Colman Domingo! In the show, the Academy Award nominee plays Muncie Daniels, a political consultant-turned-TV pundit who is on the run after being framed for the murder of a well-known white supremacist. Along the way, he’ll connect with family, find unlikely allies and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age. Watch the trailer below and stream all eight episodes of The Madness on November 28!
6.) Prime Video revealed first-look photos of Harlem season three, which is set to return to the small screen January 23! The comedy series follows four stylish and ambitious best friends living in Harlem NYC—the mecca of Black culture in America—including queer leads Tye (out actress Jerrie Johnson) and Quinn (Grace Byers). 7.) Hulu shared the first images of the highly-anticipated sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, including a sneak peek of out actress Samira Wiley as June’s queer friend and ally Moira. Adapted from the classic novel by Margaret Atwood, the series tells the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly the United States. Last season, June faced consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. 8.) Rising pop artist Jade LeMac—a GLAAD 20 Under 20 alumni and GLAAD Media Award-nominee for Outstanding Breakthrough Artist—unveiled her highly-anticipated single “Pink Balloon” today. Watch the official music video below! In more music news, internationally acclaimed artist and cabaret singer Amber Martin released her long-awaited new album Unbreakable Heart; check out the music video for focus track “I Left My Weed In Texas” and catch the album release show in NYC November 19. Indie pop artist and self-proclaimed “lesbian overlord” Polly Money also dropped the new single “i’m not proud” alongside a visualizer! Finally, DC-based pop artist Bryce Bowyn released his debut EP Siege and queer singer-songwriter Camille Schmidt shared a new single “XOXO” with an official music video!
9.) Jinkx Monsoon joined Broadway’s upcoming Pirates of Penzance production, retitled Pirates! The Penzance Musical. The jazzy New Orleans-style reinterpretation of the Gilbert & Sullivan classic features the tongue-twisting Major-General, the rabble-rousing Pirate King, newly-imagined young lovers, daring daughters, footloose pirates and fleet-footed police. Catch previews at Roundabout’s Todd Haimes Theatre beginning April 4 before opening night on April 24 with the limited engagement running through June 22!

10.) The Queer Muslim Project revealed the six Fellows selected as part of its second cohort of the QueerFrames Screening Lab, which is a creative incubator for emerging and early-career queer storytellers in South Asia. This year’s creatives—Anureet Watta, Ashutosh Shankar, Shubham Negi, Tejas Shende, Abdul Rehman Shah, and Samah Meghjee—will be mentored by filmmakers Fawzia Mirza, Saim Sadiq and Alankrita Shrivastava.
